Does anyone else find it strange but brilliant when you find yourself congratulating people on quits shorter than your own! I'm not trying to pat myself on the back or make other people feel bad, but it makes you realise you aren't right at the beginning of your road.

I don't really find myself congratulating that many newbies these days, but what's really cool is when you realise you have stopped counting. Like you somewhat know the date of your smobriety-anniversaries, but you don't count the weeks, days, months anymore.

I'm not trying to pat myself on the back ...

The Sarge pats[1] himself on the back[2] every day.[3]

Every. Day.

You should, too.

Easy Peasy

FOOTNOTES:

[1]  It's not always a "pat".

[2] It's not always on the back.

[3] And it ain't always for quitting.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
