some people dissappear from this site without a trace, or for a couple of weeks months or even days

they have done the worst thing imaginable to do and smoke.

now they are embarresed with themselves for giving in to nicodemon or maybe they are frustrated because they failed thier attempt to stop.

the longer they have quit the  harder it is to admit they gave in,

all i am saying is not to dissapear as this is the time we all need each other for strengh and help to get back on track

Hi Andrew.

I've been pretty lazy about posting. I've been busy working/planting trees/opening the cottage/playing with grandbaby. :)

But happy to report, I have maintained my lovely quit. :)

You're right, Andrew, no need for anybody to disappear.  There is no requirement to be a non-smoker to be here.

When people relapse the best thing they can do is get back here start again.  Yeah, it's hard to make that thread when you've relapsed.  I've been there and had to do it myself but the uncomfortable feeling doesn't last and you soon start to feel normal again.

It doesn't matter if somebody quit smoking the first time out of the gate or it took them 1000 tries before they finally quit for good.  The only quit that matters is the current one because it's the only one any of us have any control over.

If you've relapsed, please don't put off climbing back on board because it's easier to stay quit when you're surrounded by others who can help you along the way.

PS, the title of this thread might be better to read "If You're Smoking Again".  I thought that you smoked!!!  B)

It made sense once I read it but my initial reaction was one of "what the hell happened to Andrew that he threw his quit away?"  Glad you're okay with your strong quit intact.  :)

Agreed. I am missing two absolute beauties whom I genuinely care for and I know you guys are sneaky smoking if you read this. Now come back and let us help cause you know you don't want to right... But yes, agree 100% with Andrew, come on home chaps and chapesses and lets go again. Lost count of my endless quits, oops! x

Totally agree with this post, please still come and talk to us even if you have relapsed we may be able to get you back on the right train track again, leading to the station of QUIT, don't feel you have let anyone down, its easy to fall but get back up, brush yourselves down, put it behind you and move forward, move forward in the right direction, the direction of finally stopping and stopping for good, we are here to help and support, not to judge xx

wow Andrew I was thinking the same thing as was going to post such a thread - come on peeps this is not a competition and behind our avatars are human beings

we all make mistakes and we all get ashamed of things we have done but I believe it takes a bigger stronger person to admit it then hide it

we care for you and I mean genuinely care for you and we just want you back on the train no matter what

give it another shot - give yourself another chance - you are so worth it!!!

I know for myself spring rolling in has caused me to be offline more. With the kids getting out of school and all the spring time bbq's and etc etc I have been kept pretty busy. I used to post a lot in the mornings but that is my workout time now too. Once summer settles in a bit things will pick back up. That's why I've been M.I.A. lately, I'd like to think the same for others and hope they are far far away from the thought of relapse.

i think we all feel stronger as time passes and maybe feel we dont need the board as much as in the begining, but me personally i might not feel like i post as much but i still read posts and would be in a dark place without all of your wisdoms

If your smoking again.... Your a window licking moron. Quit now and post how awful the experience was, how you stink, your breath is bad and your hoping to never need chemo to shrink the cancer before it's cut out and hopefully you live to age 60

My internet time "budget" was a lot fatter in the winter when I quit. Now it's slim... just enough time to scan the 3 or 4 places I go for messages, hot topics, and the odd bit that strikes me as interesting.

I will stay active here and at the very least pop in on anniversaries just to show the newbs it can be done. Stuff something into the Coke Machine, and do my part to keep Julie in line, too, heh heh.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
