Will this thread maybe be more for beginners?  I'm embarrassed to post on the thread where people are running miles and miles and working out for 90 minutes!  But I have gotten off my butt!!

Oh would you stop it?!  lol Nancy! That thread is for everybody.  Should have seen the pitiful bike rides I posted when I first started.  Uh, yeah well I rode my bike for 20 minutes compared to those riding a bike for 30 miles.  Thing is, posting in that thread made me challenge myself more and more.

I agree with Colleen.  People run 7-9 minute miles, and I think the first time I went out it was like a 20-30 minute mile - and I didn't go close to "my hilll".  :)

Now, it kind of feels like a challenge when I go jog.  I want to be able to post improvements. I never would have made it jogging all the way up my hill without stopping to walk if I didn't have the exercise thread and my blog to "brag" to.  Some days I still can't make it up that hill without stopping.  And the word "jog" is really kind of a stretch.

Seriously though, I do strive to do better each time - longer distance, faster pace, no walking - whatever it may be (and not every day is a success).

Getting started is the hardest part.  And if we push ourselves too hard in the beginning, that is bad too, as it makes us feel miserable.  Adding just a little more at a time, CONSISTENTLY, is the key, I think.  Make it a priority.  It takes a little effort in the beginning, but soon you will find that you are stronger than you think you are, and believe it or not, you may even start to enjoy it.

YOU ARE WORTH IT!

As Jillian would say, "try it, you just might like it." (I never have liked the "it" she is always referring to.)

I guess I will take that as a "No"...will continue not posting on exercise threads...just keep track myself!

Have you got sky?  On there is a chick who does some stretch yoga thing, will hunt out her name if you're interested and no offence if you don't. I recorded that and was really liking it. Not too Yoga fied (think, hang upside down with legs round neck, sooo not my thing) and it was actually reshaping me slowly over 3 weeks I'm sure.Never hurt myself, didn't sweat and combined with a nice diet was losing 1lb per week and doing it 4 times. I liked I could do it at home and it being free :)

I also think walking in the woods is better :)  Just an optional thought. x

psssssst...

Nancy - if you start a beginners post, I'll post in it. My running shoes (semi-retired after 7 outings!) keep looking at me. I could swear that there is an element of reproach in those laces....

I am determined to restart my couch to 5k program. (This means I might actually run for a whole 8 minutes..... ;) )
