Yes they do stop but it takes time and an absolute commitment not to smoke again. Fighting through the early days of your quit will not kill you. Relapsing just might. That's the stark reality of smoking and why we all need to quit and stay quit. You CAN do it, just like those of us who've traveled the same path before you. We were no different - we also had to go through it, not around it.

Remember, you probably had a smoke in your mouth feeding addiction every 20 minutes.  So, cut yourself some slack and just ride it out.

Go take a shower.  Take  a bath.

Be aware that we would smoke before doing anything or instead of doing something.

Many would light up instead of eat or instead of really dealing with the situation at hand.

Be aware of the acronym H.A.L.T.  (Hungry/thirsty, Angry/emotional, Lonesome/bored, Tired

For sure you are exhausted what with all the anxiety and feeling low.  Pamper yourself in some way, you are doing so well.  and think about taking a nap !

Have a little snack and a nice nap.  Tomorrow will be a different day and you will be almost nicotine free and ready to work on patterns and habits associated with smokes.

You are on a journey.  A little turbulence here and there is to be expected.  Everything is temporary !  All this discomfort is temporary.  Little comfort right now, I know so, pamper yourself in some way.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
