Don't listen to the addict's voice.

Here are some examples of our collective junkie thinking

Red Flags

You are winning !  Each minute, hour, day...all adding up and showing your commitment, your power, your choice.

I agree....try and stay away from people who go out for a smoke ,until you feel stronger ...

Driving ...chew regular Gum ....one day you,ll realize you haven't thought of smoking at all...

It will become the normal...

Walking ....good deep breaths ....take in that fresh air ....

One day at a time AK....this is how we all did it !!!

Have peep on your Celebrations Thread .....it will give you a lift !!!!!

When I first quit I got my car professionally cleaned.  It smelled almost new and I did not want to spoil it by smoking in my car.  It also reinforced in my mind how much better I smelled as well.  You may have to do this later given our circumstances but I recommend you look into it.  I paid for it with the money I didn't burn up.

You can do this AK. Just reach down and pull that survivor spirit to get through. Conquer each trigger one at a time. I just conquered oneself today. I played 18 holes of golf and that's usually a big one for me. I even play with two guys who still smoke. I just told myself NOPE not today. So, dig deep you got this.

You quit smoking, A !  There is no other choice.

Think of our friend, Sirius' words,

"The next time a craving plunks down on your face ask yourself, "What price you are willing to pay to own yourself?"

I was feeling my deep breaths did the same thing. I also noticed that my heart rate got better as well. Keep it up AK. You are doing great.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
