Welcome aboard AK47, congratulations on day 6. You're almost done with hell week, the hardest week of all 😊I'm

I'm super thin too and found that quitting helped me gain weight because I always chose smoking over eating. Hopefully you'll start seeing some weight gain too.

We have a great site and a great group of quitters here so make yourself at home and be sure to check out all our various forums 😊

I"m not heavy smoker so quitting isn"t big deal

It only affects my stress times

Im also severely anorexic, not a food fan at all

So im trying to make double shot by replacing smoking passion with eating one

Maybe i can regain my appetite

Your passion for smoking is so much more than a passion.  You must learn about your nicotine addiction.  It is addiction NOT passion.

It doesn't matter how much or how little you smoked.  You have a nicotine addiction.

Affecting your stress times, well of course.  Nicotine is it's own stress generator. Smoking and Stress Resources

So glad you are with us.  Your journey will help others.  Congratulations on your 6 days !  That is awesome.

Hey AK47,

Being a recent smoking quit myself, I am finding it useful to cultivate a few healthy skills to use when I used to use the smoking.   I smoked for every event ...stress, celebration, relaxation, concentration...all lies.

Considering your assessment of your situation... I hope you find wonderful ways to meet stress.

I use this board to post or play games when I am stressed...distraction really. And I am not smoking!!

Deep Breathing.  Calling a friend.  Kicking a ball against a wall.  What seems like something you could try?

Healthy eating passion!  Hurray...   do you cook?   I am on an oatmeal kick lately that is delightful!

Glad you are here.  Do read lots of the resource materials and watch the videos.  Addiction is addiction...whether you have a pack a day habit or a 3 cigarettes a day habit.

Hey, A...what does "P&M" signify ?

The amount you smoked has no bearing on the fact that using nicotine feeds the addiction

Amount Smoked

Were You Addicted ?

hello and a big thumbs up - you have now officially jumped over the fence into the non-smoker village - welcome !!

think positive - reward yourself

do not  replace anything. you fell out of love with smoking for a reason - simple and rightly so.

you do not replace evil - you just walk away from it.

find a healthy habit - keep every conscious and sub conscious thought positive.

i will eat healthy and have loads of fun.

you are lucky that you are slim

 (i am almost  lucky too

i am not fat.

i just chubby you know - so do not isuspect or assume that i am fat

i mean i am not TTTTHHHHHATTTT fat,

some say i am borderline,

my mirrror is old you know

god - make me thin again

i am not crying crying - sob sob sob)

lol

you cannot replace an addiction. you can only start a new one.

But you have the power to stop an addiction. i am proud of you for having done that.

hello - i had ordered 2 burgers with extra fries and large cokes , 2 extra large pizzas with extra cheese and blah blah blah , 2 ice creams with blah blah bah, 2 milk shakes with blah blah blah, 2 jumbo cakes , blah blah blah - lol.

no my dear - i just won a lottery last week playing Russian roulette. yeah my man - yes - i won my life back  !!!

thanks - yes - throw in some tacos too my man and some noodles and blah blah blah.

lol - enjoy - never heard anyone die from over eating. GEEEEE - but then i would not know. i mean the world would know from my tragedy if that happened - NOOOOOO!!!!!!

just me being silly - cheer up. remember - the more you laugh - the easier your quit.

keep us posted. keep yourself proud and standing tall.

Welcome aboard AK.  Good call on giving up the smokes.

Cigarettes kill.  They take everything and give nothing in return.

Food provides nutritional sustenance and, done right, can be delicious.

Looks like a good trade to me.

I would agree - throw out the smokes. If you have to make a trip out to buy more, at least you have time to think about what you are doing and perhaps change your mind. You've started something major in your life (quitting). Why would you go back now? Do everything you can to be successful! Sleeping with the devil (keeping some smokes handy) undermines your chances of success.

Knowledge ....understand this addiction ....

They r still precious

This is still believing they offer you something ...junkie thinking ....

They do nothing for you ...they kill you ever so slowly you carn,t see it happening ...

Once you get a smoking illness ....there is no cure .....

Dried tobacco leaves rolled up in paper with a filter on the end...nothing precious about that.

The perception of what the cigarette is that we held as smokers compared to the reality of what the cigarette actually is was terribly skewed by addiction and the lies we agreed to accept as gospel truth.

Don't give a cigarette any more credit than it deserves.  The cigarette has as much or as little power as you give it.

Day 9

Hell

Casual smoker is same hooked as heavy

I"m suffering but determinant.......

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”

Congratulations on 9 days smoke free.

Yes, light smokers are as addicted as heavy ones.  Best to get smoking and nicotine out of your system completely.  You are doing a great job.

good to see you are learning about nicotine addiction.  education is your best tool in your tool box.

Think about what our friend @Sirius says,

"The next time a craving plunks down on your face ask yourself, "What price you are willing to pay to own yourself?"

Stay determined.  You are doing Great !
