When I exercise, after about 5 mins, every extend has the inside of my elbow clicking. Doesn't do it in normal tasks, doesn't do it straight away but after a while it does. No pain, aware of a minor pull and a click noise. For the duration of whatever I'm doing (combat/yoga/pilates/shred thing/toning/weights) it clicks and I have to modify everything.

Have taken a week off exercise due to illness. Restarted today and the click started after 5 mins again, so a rest made no difference.

Any ideas?  I have carpal tunnel in the same arms hand, could it be linked?  The tunnel is not too bad as I've not long had a steroid injection (bout 3 months ago I think).

I have (had) tennis elbow and when my arm is not in use, then tendons running from my forearm to where they attach to my elbow get tight and I snap my arm it kind of pops to relieve the tension from the inflamation.  I've gotten shots of cortisone in the past when I was experiencing lots of pain but ended up resting it for a good 9 months it's much, much better and I can do virutally anything without aggravating it.

Marti, the same thing for me, except it doesn't wait 5 minutes to start, it's pretty constant if I stretch. My knees do it too, and my big toes. It honestly sounds like someone snapping a stick sometimes it's so loud!

I've never even considered mentioning it before... If you find out what it is, please let me know!!

My shoulder clicks when I lift my arm over my head, it does not hurt and I am really not conscious of it unless it is repetitive.  So, I asked a physical therapist I know what it was and she told me crepitus is the medical term.  It refers to the clicking sensation caused by air in the subcutaneous tissue of the joint.  If there is no pain, there is nothing to worry about.
