Welcome back albert ,

The first few times it is a bit hard , because you are not serious enough .

But after some time passes you will slowly start understanding the seriousness of this addiction .

Then you will start putting more effort to stay away from smoking .

Anyway good luck staying quit .

Keep fighting the dullness and try to stay fresh somehow .

because I thought I was in control. Turns out I wasn't and I smoked half a pack this week.

Au contraire: You ... and ONLY YOU are in control.
You are in FULL control of your smoking status.

You CHOOSE to smoke
OR
You CHOOSE to remain quit

You.

It is a conscious, willful decision that lies only with you.
YOU and no one but YOU,

When you can acknowledge this without making excuses ... only then
will you be successful at quitting.

Stay in contol, my man.

Addiction is all about us, you and me.

There is no such creature as a 'nico demon'.

Our own face is the face of addiction and our own voice is the voice of the addict.

There is no demon lurking around about to pounce on us and make us fail ourselves, fail our quit.

It is our own selves.

We must take full responsibility for being the addicts that we are

and remain vigilant throughout our lives to keep our addiction asleep.

I take full responsibility when I have put a label  on the addiction...that is all it is to me!.

i do not place this on me directly this is too harsh.  When I have the thoughts lurking in my head then I can label them how I like, this has helped me enormously and isn't it the aim that we just want to stop smoking. If you like to call this romancing or any other label you might have, then its alive and well with me,.

My imagination soars with love for myself and others, then my voice is and does and always belongs to me I am the owner.  Beyond the Non Smoking message I give myself, no one can tell me how to think. That is a given.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
