So, I’m Petra, which only my Mom ever called me, but I love my online Petra identity.  J

I grew up in San Diego County and moved to Colorado when I was 23.  My Mom is originally from Colorado, so I have a lot of family here.

Twenty years later, I have a handsome husband of 15 years, two awesome kids, cows, chickens, bees, dogs and lots of wildlife around us (like coyotes, dear, elk, porcupine, a bear (only saw him once – thank goodness), hawks, etc. – not my in-laws. lol).

Colorado is a great place to be married and raise a family, but I miss San Diego so much, especially during the dark snowy months like January.   I often work on a plan to live in both places, but so far, that hasn’t happened. I'll keep dreaming about that!

I started smoking young, like 13.  I quit in 2007 for four years and very stupidly relapsed.  My new quit is going strong – other than occasional junkie thinking that my AWESOME quitter friends help me kick to the curb.  J

I lost my Dad to cancer from smoking.  L  He was only 57, and I absolutely adored him.  MEH!!!  I’m still so sad he is gone.

I look forward to reading all of your introductions and getting active on the Board.  :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
