Well it's the week of the come backs. Jack popped in for his monthly catch up. @Stewietech popped in and we kinda hope he sticks around. When he I saw his post a little voice inside me yelled "Hallelujah, he's back" ...and thus I give you the Hallelujah Cover Poll....no not the chorus ....but Leonard Cohen's one....

 

So here we go, the original by the man who penned it:

 

Then we have Jeff Buckley who bought it to the masses....

 

Then she made it hers at the Winter Olympics and gave it a new feel...I give you Katherine Dawn Lang..

 

Then not wanting to be left out Jon Bon Jovi gave it a burl...

 

And then rounding out our voting options is that little ginger guitar ninja all the way from the British Isles.....Ed Sheeran

 

Wait a second groovers....we got some yanks, we covered Canada, we have a Britski but where's the bloody Aussie....here's 10 of the...the Ten Tenors..

Not a bad one in the bunch and I'm always hesitant to vote against the original.  That being said, I voted for Jeff Buckley.  Just because it was his cover that introduced me to the song and it still ranks as one of my favorite songs of all time.

 

Damn shame about Jeff Buckley...another tremendous talent gone too soon.

Well, I liked the original by Leonard but the covers by JB and KD Lang are really incredible....got to go with the one that gives me goosebumps....JB!

Bringing it home with the next poll .. so the song will be an Aussie classic, the cover/s will be by Aussies chances are most of ya won't know the song, cover or original, or even the artists.... Will give it a different spin with no pre conceptions...and then again I might be wrong.
