I live in Colorado, southeast of Denver.  I would like to live in San Diego, which is where I am grew up.  I am currently working on a plan to live in both places, but there is always that money factor that gets in the way.

Were you an athlete when you were younger?

I was a pretty decent swimmer in high school.  After that, I was active, playing frisbee, tennis & goofing off, but not an "athlete."

I believe I became an athlete in 2007 at the ripe age of 39.  I joined a gym and quit smoking and did some short distance triathlons, swim and bike races.  I got a T-shirt that said "ATHLETE" on the back one year and one that said "TRIATHLETE" the following year.  Very special to me!!!

Then I relapsed in 2011, stopped exercising, cried.  lol  Now I am 10 months re-quit and trying taking up running (thanks to The Sarge) so I can call myself ATHLETE again.  :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
