Are you a natural blonde? :girl_wink:

Nah.....in fact, much of my hair would be naturally streaked with grey if I didnt fight nature and spend $ to have it hidden.

This is gonna sound crazy......but I'd go to Calcutta. (Change your mind yet on coming Nanc?)

Yes, Calcutta....the Mother Teresa place. I'd like to go for a 'working vacation' . I'd take the hubby because he  can build stuff. Good stuff. :)

Does the carpet match the drapes?

I visit a salon for that too. Carpet is so yesterday.  :tease:

Are all your avatars recent? If so, then how do you keep such a youthful appearance?

My avatars are all within the last 2 years.

Its genetics.....simple luck of the draw. My sweet momma is 65 and could easily pass for my sister.  :friends:

But my poor younger brother....he got some other set of genes. We go out and people think hes my dad!! I love it!

-Righting all the wrongs I made while I was drinking/using. In my 12 step world its known as amends or cleaning my side of the street. Im not sure 'accomplishment' is the right word to use....but Im grateful I was even given the opportunity. Some people should have slammed the door in my face....or beat me up....or something...but most people were very gracious. Many of them are friends today.

-I'd have stayed in school and listened to my parents!! They would have paid for all my schooling if I hadnt dropped out as a teen......instead, I paid for my own college education once I figured out that being a rebel didnt pay well. If I could do it again, my parents would have been footing the bill for med school.

-That I seem to be a magnet for anyone with any type of brain disorder/addiction/mental health issue etc. While many people run away....I run towards.

-No. I miss my band. I miss my boys. But the band life is not very conducive to sober life or family life. A few times a year I sing at a festival with them....they visit and we play it up in my livingroom. But Im done with the bar stages. Besides, Im not sure my new non-smoking body could fit in the little get-ups that were part of that old life. LOL

Hmmm...favorite song to sing.....thats hard. "Me and Bobby Mcgee" I think  :)

I was married for 6 years (married WAY too young) then divorced. Then took up with Jay (Bakon's long lost brother) and we've been living in sin for the last 18 years.

The Jaybird and I have been hooked up and living in sin for 18yrs.  :)

Oy....when they turn about 11 or 12 and start to think they know everything and you know nothing....until....well, my oldest is 26 and Im still waiting for her to get normal!

I took my first drink at 15 and my immediate thought was "OMG! Why did I wait so long!!" For me, it was some magical potion that allowed me to move through life without fear, anger, intollerance.

My family suffered horribly. Likely much worse than I did.....because I had booze and drugs as an anesthetic. They just had to watch, with their hands tied, powerless to do anything.

From age 15 on I drank as often as I could and as much as I could, yet still try to function. But, as it tends to do...it caught up with me at the age of 35/36. I destroyed relationships, ruined jobs and had a long list of regrets. Im really really glad I dont live that way anymore.

Not too personal....Im mostly an open book.

Snorting cocaine was my favorite activity and went hand in hand with drinking. The thing about that magical white powder though....is it will financially destroy you in the blink of an eye.  :fool:  Plus make you a little paranoid and delusional....which makes any self-respecting addict seek other drugs to counteract the effects of the drug they took too much of.....

so one ends up eating all kinds of colorful pills. Pills that they were handed by bar owners/drug dealers/strangers/friends-of-friends.

Mixing booze and cocaine and random pills, along with no food, no sleep....often leads to trips to the ER. Which means that its no secret from the hubby or the parents or the clean living friends. The kids were often protected from as much info as possible....but they knew life wasnt right. They knew I wasnt a typical mom......but they often thought it was because I sang in a bar.  :girl_sad:

Again...I am really really glad I dont live that way anymore.

Have you ever considered writing?

Ive been working on a novel for the last 6 months  :dash1:

Its not as relaxing and fun as I thought it was going to be.

Writing a novel sounds romantic. I assure you, its not!

But Im committed to following it through because in my mind, its a great story!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
