How old is that cat in your avatar now?

Will you post an updated pic of the cat in the cat thread?

Do you have any children?

Would you agree that cats are the best pets?

The cat in my picture is Koko taken eight years ago on the first night we brought him home. Our other cat at the time, Lilly ( mixed breed Siamese ) hated Koko and hissed, growled and stalked him all afternoon. My shoulder was the first warm safe place he found so he fell asleep like a baby. I was watching soccer, the USA qualifying for the World Cup.

I have lots of favorite books, I really liked The Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy O'Toole.

I only dislike Summer, too hot. I want to hibernate in an air conditioned cave. My wife, Janet723, and the three cats, the third is a Siamese called Yumyum, hate how cold I make the house during the Summer.

We have just passed our eleventh anniversary and are spending the weekend at Kure Beach NC. Janet was my realtor. The first time we went out to look at houses, I brought her currant cake cookies and coffee. I apologized for wasting part of her Saturday. We got to know each other's likes and dislikes and how we lived or wanted to live. She was 17 years older than I ( I think I have closed the gap somewhat ) so she had to get alright with that. We lived together for 4 years before getting married.

I'll post the cookie recipe in a bit.

One of the funniest things I heard recently was my friend Richardson calling a talk radio station and commenting in favor of high capacity magazines for semi-automatic rifles. It doesn't sound that funny unless you know (and the hosts did) that Richardson lives in an apartment and is blind. He told the station, "I can't see so good so I need to be able to throw some lead around".

I will post some new cat pictures in the cat thread next week. Cats make great pets.

I have a step daughter (divorced) with three kids and a step son. I like the grand kids a lot. Of the others, Paul refrains from comment.

I like to travel. I've been to Greece, Ireland, the North Sea (cruise ship), Italy (twice), Scotland, Holland, and Belgium. We will go to England next year. This fall we will go to Seattle to visit my friend Richardson.

I was very good at math all through school. I work as an organic chemist so I use some math every day, just not all the calculus I had to take.

Bacon! That was an easy question Pippa. I make my own bacon ( streaky as you would know it ) by dry curing and cold smoking.

The cats would never scratch you Nancy as long as you didn't try to pick them up. They are sensitive creatures and would know you to be good. Bakon would be a different story.

I think some idiot forgot to push post before turning off the iPad.

I have done that, before.  Or, I'll hit "enter" like I am posting on Facebook...then go to another page, and my post disappears, of course!!

In grad school I worked with a Greek student that was crazy about soccer. He invited me over to watch World Cup games with his other Greek buddies on Mexican TV. In between the Spanish and Greek commentary, he explained the game to me. I've watched the World Cup ever since. In 2006, I decided to make more of my family World Cup fans by giving them teams ( other than the USA ) to cheer for. Since I thought they would need a team jersey to be proper fans, I gave out those as well, a total of 17. I became an Arsenal fan after I happened to be sick one day and flipped the channel to a Champions league match between Real Madrid of the Galactos era and an underdog team lead by Henry.
