So really there are only two season... Footy Season and Cricket Season.... but for some odd reason I feel the rest of the world does not believe this sentiment.... so lets do a four way vote.... just which season is the best... the options are obvious but your reasons for thinking one season rules supreme will be vast and varied... it may come down to an anniversary, or the birthdays of loved ones, or the smells in the air.... so just which season do you think is the best season...

Surprisingly this one is a toughy...  tossing up between Autumn and Spring.... leaning toward spring... so lets see what I have....

Autumn... pros... footy season starts and there is still a hope for the Saints winning the flag... Melbourne's weather is the most erratic it will be all year... best pears and apples of the year...which I kinda like... and the colours as the leaves fall from the trees...Easter (don't forget my seasons are reversed)... ANZAC day...Grand Prix... Labour Day.... you can comfortably eat soups, stews or salads as within a week the weather will be perfect for all.... its just right...Cons.... not much cricket... its getting colder... frickin leaves in the gutters...

Spring...footy finals, the grandfinal, the Brownlow, Bathurst, The Cup Carnival, The Cup..... all the new green.... my birthday....my quit anniversary... father's day.... softball season starts... cricket starts.... stone fruit, OMG the stone fruit... weathers ok...... cons... frickin magpies.... omg the magpies....

nope decision made... I know where me vote will go

Any season that does not include snow or cold.   Our springs and falls can sometimes include both so I guess mine is summer.

You know I was still working on the toilet paper one.  I had been practicing both techniques all week.  So intent on working it out, I missed the vote!

@Linda Thomas....sorry you missed the dunny paper vote  ? ...they end automatically on the Friday, my time, usually around my midnight.

Oh...after an early lead by Spring it seams summer has pulled even and things are now neck and neck....we have one winter lover...but it seems noone is a fan of Autumn.

G’day

Living in the sub tropics you have 2 seasons really.

Summer which is hot and extremely humid. You can get in the mood to complain about it but next thing you get a summer storm. Can’t beat a good storm . Yes they can be destructive but usually they dump an inch or two of rain in an hour. It leaves you nice and cool and is the time of the year when you get the best rains. So it’s the wet season really.

The other 9 months are cool and dry. Never gets to cold except for a week maybe when I might complain and actually close our back door proper as we usually just have a locked security insect screen door. I don’t have a heater, I don’t have a jumper or thick jacket. Best time to grow tomatoe and basil as the summer is too wet too hot and what doesn’t rot get eaten by the insects! Still a great time to swim too as the water temp usually doesn’t drop below 20C so early mornings it’s usually warmer than the air temp.

Hard to pick but....

My vote goes to the 9 month dry season or winter....

The summers here can be brutal.

Winters here are typically mild.

Spring is nice and could have gotten my vote as favorite.

After a long, hot summer...that first bit of cool fall air is a welcome relief.  Autumn gets my vote.

Having lived in Darwin for a few years I contemplated adding Wet, Dry and Build-Up.... but figured you'd work it out... I kinda love that the NT plays footy in the wet season, gives me footy all year round that way.
