1/2 hour of the 1 1/2 hours of walking I have to do today is done. Thanks friday 13th for trapping my carin a broken garage so everything is on foot today!

Lat Pulldown, seated pulley row and upright row...then spin class.  I meant to do a couple more things before spin class, but had to stop for gas and got to talking to the instructor.  I'll have to make up for it tomorrow.  I can't make Tuesday night's class, I've got a dentist appointment.

The MP3 player has been replaced.

Yesterday's 12-miler didn't happen (had to shop for new music, y'know) , but turned into today's Half-Marathon.

Slow half marathon with the wife.  @ 2:05:21 (9:34/mile)

Tonight a 9 pm is the 5k.

I'm ready! (I think)

Music is on the iPod but if you guys think of any songs today I could for sure use some new running songs.

Best of luck!!  Sure it'll be fabulous!

Walked for 2 hours around the beautiful old town of Oxford for my exercise today, pretty great!

havent truly worked out all week (except walking everywhere) was on vaca....did a little bit of strength yesterday and rode my recumbent stationary bike today for an hour and did squats, lunge pulses, other strength exercises with weights feels awesome would have went for a run outside but it is raining and storming out so no go sigh....I have been avoiding running on the treadmill as of late because of the long winter (at least for a bit yet) plus I have learned that I love running outside but at the gym I use the adaptive motion trainer which is awesome and I believe that is helping me with my endurance when I run outside and helps me run without stopping. Back at it this week and I have to look at my diet closer I think to see where I can and am willing to change it a bit.

At the gym this morning, I did triceps extensions, seated pulley row and linear leg presses.  Then spin class.  After spin class, I realized I might not get back to the gym until Thursday morning, so I then went on to do lat pull downs, chest press, upright rows.

My legs are achy from yesterday.  I do linear leg presses from time to time, to check on how strong my legs are getting.  I managed 405 lbs yesterday for my third set.  Maybe I should concentrate more on upper body these days??

It was a really fun time.

But my running partner wasn't really a runner, so we walked about half of it.

So it was not difficult at all.  But still fun.

Basement treadmill 10k in t-minus 25 minutes. Training schedule calls for "fast and furious".

Gonna go for the first sub 7:00/mile 10k of the year. Probably not gonna make it. The last time the schedule called for fast, Sarge ran 7:23/mile and that kicked his arse thoroughly. Could barely do 7:50/mile at the race two weeks ago.

No harm in trying, though.  Aim high, they say.

Might make it, right?

T-minus 22 minutes and counting ...

Aaaaanndddd that didn't happen.

By mile 1.8 Sarge was sucking wind and barely able to keep pace with the treadmill. At one point he slowed down to a 10:30 mile for a tenth or two ...

Final time:  45:34 (7:20/mile - Not. Even. Close.)

Aim high, miss small [1][2]

FOOTNOTE:

[1] or something like that ... ;)

[2] It was still 3 seconds/mile faster than the last one [3]

[3] and had a small incline/grade that the last one didn't have (half a percent (0.5%))

10 mins yoga, 20 minute ab and bums workout

It utterly cracks me up writing on this thread.  Some guys are running miles and I'm just leaping around my lounge while the little ones at nursery haha. Is there a more lightweights thread?

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
