Spin class this morning, Sunday's instructor is big on resistance, my legs were already aching...didn't think I'd make it, but I did.  Then went and did the the pulley row machine, which I am really starting to like.

Ran 3.5 miles no stopping :)

Frez, how far do you usually run without stopping?

Today I ran 3.25 miles and rested for 30 secs every 6 min. That seemed to help a lot. I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things.

Then watched first episode of Drop Dead Diva season 6 while on elliptical. It was an amazing episode. So good :)

My trainer is back - so no more excuses not to exercise ! Did a weights session and then kick boxing. Just realised I am in week 11 of my 12 week challenge - so will be interesting to see the final results in a couple of weeks !

10-miler due today at 7:40 or better pace.

Still sore from Saturday's 8-miler at that pace (actually 7:38, but 7:40 was the goal).

Writing it down (typing here) so The Sarge doesn't make excuses and wimp out later this evening.

This one will tell The Sarge if the Personal Record is attainable next month. If he makes this, then there's 5 weeks of fairly easy training coming up before the race. If he doesn't make it, then there's some hard, difficult speed workouts coming up right soon now [1]...

for a while I was having to stop within the 1st mile a couple of times to slow and walk for a few seconds to catch my breathe but lately I think I might of found my rhythm not having to stop until mile 3 when I run outside (usually at that time to go pee lol) then continue back to my house another 3 miles

3.1 Miles (5K) today.  46:30  Walked for a  moment at the 2.0 mile mark.  Went all the way up the hill without stopping.

I got this band to wear around my leg, above my knee.  It helped my IT band soooooo much!!!  No sore knee or sore leg.  Love it!  First time to run without knee pain.  New shoes are coming soon.  Those should help too. :)

Here is a pic of the hill.  However, I'm not quite all the way up to the top and the last piece of the bottom is missing too.

At our age (Sarge is 45 in about 8 weeks), Petra, there's always gonna be pain somewhere.  We do start to wear out and Impending Decrepitude eventually catches all of us.

The Sarge has just learned to Embrace The Suck when running. Sore muscles. Sore joints. Tired. Weak-feeling. Side-stitches. Cramps. All of it - the whole she-bang:

Wow! 6.4 miles is AWESOME!! :)

I am supposed to be planting my garden too.  It has been sooooo flippin cold this spring.  I started some seedlings - but they are pretty weak.  Gardening isn't my favorite thing, but I LOVE the fresh veggies!!!  It's one of my love/hate relationships. :)

Went to Step class today.  My FAVORITE class!!!!  Burns waaayyyy more calories(for me)  than jogging, and is super fun!!!

8.5-miler. Treadmill, 0.5% grade @ 1:04:08 (7:32/mile)

At this rate, Sarge might shoot for 7:30's pace on the upcoming half-marathon. That would blow the old PR out of the water - taking 6-ish minutes off the overall time.

Did a small group high intensity class at the gym- they call it functional fit - I think it could probably be renamed half hour of hell ! Feel good now though a0d0423989cfe63dbac86525c36d6b54_zpsff34

Tonight is basketball and then I think a nice glass of wine is in order !a0d0423989cfe63dbac86525c36d6b54_zpsff34

Haven't been to the gym since Tuesday  :( Have been doing some brisk walking, earning the name speedy at work already lol.  On Tuesday, I overdid it a bit knowing I wouldn't be there for a couple days at least, still feeling it.  I need to find at least one mid-week spin  class before I go insane.  There is the Thur morning one, but  might not be able to make it due to traffic.  My commute without traffic is 20 minutes, with traffic most mornings is at least an hour.  Wonder if it would seem strange if I brought free weights and did a few things in the parking lot, lol.  I work in an office park and the closest they have to a gym is some personal training center just for women, which is next to a junk food restaurant, and that is next to Food Addicts In Recovery Anonymous.  I dunno seems sort of ironic. Clearly am in spin class withdrawal!

9-miler with Mrs. Sarge this evening (after it cools off a bit (WOOT! Off the Treadmill for about 3 weeks ... and then it'll be too hot outside)) - She's training for the same race ... not going for her PR[1], though, she's waiting 'til Fall ( Sarge believes we have the Dayton Marathon (half-marathon scheduled) or definitely the Columbus Half. She wasn't running all winter/spring with The Sarge and is just now getting into shape again.  Fall will be her Personal Record attempt. Just another Sunday Run for this one next month.

Sarge is going to nail a PR next month.

FOOTNOTE:

[1] It;s nice when neither of us are going for a record time - then we both can run together and make it a family event. If either of us is in Personal Record Breaking Mode, we each run our own race and meet at the Finish Line.  Not gonna happen this race. Sarge needs to take off and run a fast pace. She can't keep up right now ... but watch out for this fall. She'll be leaving Sarge in the dust. When she's in shape and well-trained, she's a better runner than even The Sarge.
