Thanks for the update and your honesty, ChosenFreedom! Sleep might just be what you need to heal right now...you can get back on track soon but right now in your early quit is time for YOU. Be selfish in taking care of yourself...don't sweat the small stuff!

In your case of not feeling well, I would keep juice handy to signal the body to release blood sugar. Fasting will cause low blood sugar and that sick to the stomach feeling.

Just keep giving smoky thoughts a big! fat! NOPE! You're doing great, keep reading about nicotine addiction (even the boring stuff) to reinforce your choice to be a non-smoker! Hooray day 4!

That all sounds very familiair, CF. I quit on a wednesday evening, worked on thursday and then had 3 days off, slept right through them! Glad I did though. Just do whatever feels right, except for lighting up ofcourse. Dah. :)

You sniffin in second hand smoke (iehw!) made me think of a dutch clip.

I really recommend reading and teaching yourself about what it is that you left behind. It will strengthen your resolve for those moments you are going to need it!  And, it helps to make the clock go faster in empty moments :)

@ChosenFreedom how are you doing? Tomorrow 'the head is off', we say in Holland,  the start has been made, first days are done, one week of being smokefree will be yours!

@ChosenFreedom Hi, and sorry for the late wishes but welcome to the forum. Day 5 for you now? It's an amazing decision you've taken to take back control of your life, primarily because smoking absolutely does nothing to change the situation you may be in.

Stay strong, and what worked for me was I focused on getting through one hour, one crave and then one day at a time. And now I've completed 5 months. Stick close to this forum, amazing help and support available. One day at a time, and soon you'll be celebrating your milestones with us.

Stay strong CF, you've started a great quit...keep it going

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
