As I spoke about you on the forum publicly I thought it only fair I apologise to you publicly.

I'm sorry if I over reacted about the whole nicotine free thing. I know you only have good intentions and I have probably made you feel really uncomfortable.

I lost my quit and yours is still strong. I think that proves that your mindset and views are right and mine was all wrong.

You've been here a very long time and helped so many. I've been here five minutes and probably made you feel bad about being in what is like "your home."

I hope when I get back with a quit intact we can wipe the slate clean and you will share your knowledge and wisdom with me.

Lilly

I agree, @Sazerac gives wonderful advice and has a very respectable quit. It would do anyone well to come here and take advantage of her knowledge.

I won't speak for Sazerac, (but I can imagine her house is a non-smoking one)

Stay here and find your quit. You don't have to come with one to impress; we all know what it is to try to shake the nicodemon and we can help.

Sorry to hear you relapsed Lily.  And I'm sure Sazerac will appreciate you reaching out to her to publicly apologize. Over reacting goes with the territory in the early days of quitting so I'm sure she understood and didn't get upset by it. Heck I've said way worse lol

And like Jane said, don't wait until you get a quit intact. Come here from the start like I wish I had. We don't want you going through those early struggles alone. I hope to see you back and quit sooner than later!

I too am sorry you smoked Lily....jump right back on.....

Early in our quits ...we are all over the place...our bodies are messed up ...

Some folks cry..some folks have temper fits..ect..we are all different....

Everyone travelling the train wants you to succeed.... We give support in different ways...

Me...I get my cast iron frying pan out...nothing like a good whack...to clear the mind...

Others ..speak straight ..no pussyfooting around....others..tap you with cotton wool...and speak softly...

This is a killer addiction...which is slowly taking your life...

Once you understand this addiction ..you will understand why things are posted...

This is your life...

I'm also sorry you lost your quit. We're all addicts here and do and say some crazy things at times, never forget nicotine is an addiction. A clean slate is refreshing and education is key for your quit

hello @Lilly,

I am so sorry you resumed smoking again, really sorry.

Nicotine is our enemy and it is a fiercely persistent foe but, WE ARE MORE POWERFUL. YOU are more powerful !

Sure, it is a big bad addiction but, not stronger than our will or our intent.  Nicotine addiction shrivels when we commit to NOPE.

Quitting smoking is a wonderful journey of self discovery.  Denial and deception are seen in a clear light and truth takes precedence.

Truly, it is an extraordinary experience when one's self-confidence solidifies and you get to know a New YOU.

Lilly. Thank you for your apology and I apologize if I upset you in any way.

I did feel bad and worried that I might have messed up someones quit. I try and weigh my words, I try to be careful.

We are all fragile beings really, and especially so when quitting.  Sometimes, I am too heavy handed.  I know this.  Tough Love isn't always the correct solution

but, with our fabulous community here, you will get warm and fuzzy love too.  All our voices are important.  ALL OF US ARE ON YOUR SIDE.

So, put those fags down and jump back on QTrain.  We are your allies and you can quit smoking, I know this.

Thank you everyone for your lovely posts.

Sazerac a special thank you to you for your post. Only someone with a really good heart would have written your response. I need you to know your posts had nothing to do with my quit. I sabotaged my own quit and threw it away through my own bad choices.

I'm very lucky to have you and everyone else here looking out for me.

I've done a pre-quit thread so come over and have some hot coffee and doughnuts ?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
