This is Mason Cox, he hails from Texas and tomorrow, 29th September, he will make history by being the first American to play in an AFL grand final (the Aussie Rules Superbowl). He will be playing for the Melbourne based team Collingwood and when he straps on his boots and pulls on his jumper and runs through the banner in that black and white strip in front of over 100,000 screaming fans history will be written...

so for any of you Americans interested in watching your boy make history and write himself into the record books you should be able to watch the game ....

USA: 9.30pm, Friday (west coast); 12.30am, Saturday (east coast)

^^ should be a link to show you how you can watch where you are.

Here is an interview he did earlier in the season... the guy interviewing him (Eddie McGuire) is the president of his club...

So today we had a public holiday for the Grand Final Eve parade.... this is what the city looked like .... despite light spring showers....

Its a chance for those who didn't get tickets to see their team before the grandfinal.... The MCG is a sell out, sold out in 15mins... all 100,000 seats are sold.... people are flying over from Perth... Collingwood's old home ground is going to be a live venue for members who missed out on tickets.... Fed square is going to be a live venue... and somewhere else in city.

Love Grand final week.

We stole him from basketball..... I think he played college ball over there. Isn't it funny you hear him talk and hear him sound like an Aussie and I hear him talk and its so not Aussie at all.

It does sound a little "affected"...sort of like the way Madonna speaks just because she lived in London for a few years....I have a cousin who has lived in London for 35 years and is married to a Brit....he still sounds like he is from New York! ?

I don't get Madonna's wanky accent but the Aussie accent sorta sits between the Brit and the American one so it would be easy to adapt to it. He doesn't sound like the American Basketballers we had over here in the late 80's early 90's... their accents were all really strong.

well he would of head a head start then... lotsa Aussies drop the g or its so soft ya don't hear it. Coke is coke.... pop is a type of music.... carbonated drinks that are non alcoholic are called soft drinks... or fizzy drinks.... or buy their name, Fanta, Sprite, etc....
