So, a few years ago I had an accident at softball and was left with some nerve damage in my neck/spine that affects my right shoulder and hand. So the magic tablets that were helping this have had to be shelved while I have treatment which means its getting harder to do things with my right hand. The specialist says I have to do a minimum of an hour of fine motor skills a day particularily using pincer grip. So his suggestion was adult colouring books.... um, nah, my OCD tendencies do not like those, not at all, not one bit... but I really have the options of drawing, writing, or painting.... now I'm no artist but I have the supplies for all of these... so...''

I have to be doing at least an hour a day... and I'm supposed to do this every day until I see him again in about a month.... So I need inspiration and I had a look online at those 30 day art challenge lists but as a good friend pointed out... 1) I have issues sticking to a 30 day thing... and it puts a bit of pressure on myself to do.... 2) we haven't had a poll for a while.... so instead of me sitting here scratching my head at a blank piece of paper lets open it up and I'll let you guys tell me what to do.

So here are the suggestions I have from The Kid... whichever has the most votes in 48hrs will be the what I go with. Until then I have something to work on. Yes I will post pics, don't be expecting much I'm no Saz.

Oh please leave suggestions below for possible topics... so I can do the next poll..whatever the masses pic I'll run with..

I vote painting!! :)  I love people who paint, even if their stiff looks like shite. Be inspired and paint something - anything.

Whatever strikes your fancy. I can pose if you like?

My idea for your next topic is animal combos like a kangabunnypig. Or a toaddogcat or even a unigoatowl

I will join you in the challenge.  One Hour ?

Drawing/painting

or

writing a short piece

we could switch it up depending on mood or location.

Ideas for subjects....plenty of darling smoke free creatures to  think of plenty of subjects...maybe one day is self portrait day either paint or words.

One hour a day ?  I'll try.

what is the first challenge ?

when do we start ?

who else is in ?

Well some themes might take more than a day.... so I was just numbering them and putting in my time...

#1 ..What I am working on until the first vote comes in.... inspirational sandwhich bags for the kid... I used to do this when she was little because she wouldn't eat her lunch but because all the other kids made a fuss over what was on her bag she was more inclined to get it out and eat it... then grade 4 was really hard for her cos she had a crap teacher who was a bully so I started doing uplifting quotes, or funny jokes so she had something to look forward to. Well I stopped when she went to high school because, well high school, so she has asked me to do some more.. so for me I am decorated zip lock sandwich bags with sharpies for my bubba... there will be positive... you could do something inspirational (your good at that). I was just about to set up.

I'm planning on going with whatever medium rocks my boat for the theme we are working on... and I think I could work the self portrait in... maybe we will make that #5 .. because my art brain is a bit rusty and needs some warming up... but leave it too far out and I will psych myself out of doing it because, that's a bit mirt y. I hope you realise that you are just as likely to get a page of doodles as anything resembling art from me.

SO Saz and I are on the QT art tour... anyone else in?

I think painting would be fun. I'd love a nice sea scene with boats and let go all out and have a lighthouse too!

Or paint your pets...might be easier to draw a pet.

And heck a self portrait is always funny!

I'd love to be able to draw or paint. It would just be so chilled to pitch up somewhere on a nice day and paint the scene for an hour. Good for you jo, I hope you enjoy it and it helps.

I don't have any materials but I might chuck in a wee sketch at some point.

Never said I could... just preferable to doing adult colouring books.. So have added your suggestions into the list... that's the biggest issue... I will sit there all day staring at a blank page instead of doing anything.... need a muse. So basically I am using everyone to get ideas.

I need a muse also.  In fact, I need a train load of muses to get me up off my rusty dusty.

When are we starting this ?  Monday ?

Can you guess what I voted for...? such colour and imagination could be put to work there...

Yeah I've done stones and bottles and mugs and plates.. I went through a phase of if it stood still long enough I painted on it..? great fun to be had..

I think you should work on a series of lesser known superheroes.  Their powers are not quite as super as some and they tend to be less flashy; there are plenty of them on the other hand –

Internet pundit guy – No one knows more than all of us, except this guy.  Actually… wrote Wikipedia.

Stapler woman – Motto “E Pluribus Unum”.  Gave up a promising career as a seamstress to work with paper.

Superfly on the Wall – Deeply annoying and sometimes swatted, you should hear the things he’s heard.

Spam the Dog – Down!  Stop!  Stop trying to lick my face!  No I don’t need Viagra!  Stop!  Quit!!!

An Australian one for you Jo – Mr. Vegemite – Adds a spoonful to every damn thing.  Maligned, misguided, and misunderstood.

And provides protection from the vicious drop bears.... oh there is merit to this one... We spend $8 a week on vegemite in this house, and you think the early days of a quit are bad, you should face breaky in our house if there is no Vegemite.

So today it will be eyes...

Will have to get up a new poll (I know how much our Jillar loves them).... for the next topic.

So the suggestions are ....

The beach with boats and a lighthouse.

Crazy mixed up animals

Feet

Pets

Self Portrait ... ok will keep the voting to 3 options... you will have 2 days... let me see if we can set it up here or if it has to be separate.
