Canada Day is kind of strange here as there's no real protocol to follow. It's just looked at as another long summer weekend which are a prized commodity  here due to weather issues most other times of the year. Most just get laid back and relax or maybe do a BBQ. There are fireworks but it's way more prevalent these days then when I was a kid. It's not like in the USA that's for sure.

Years ago fireworks were reserved for only Victoria Day which is a celebration of Queen Victoria's BD in late May. See, we do still care about your Brits ?

I like Canada and plan on visiting again...as soon as the coast is clear.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
