Seasonal Triggers

I took my "boys", my son and 2 of his buddies, down to the creek to celebrate his 13th birthday. This place is a special one for me, for a number of reasons, but all my memories here are tied to smoking. I was a little hesitant, but it was a brilliant day; 75 degrees, cold water, but not too bad, and I saw a couple of herons. I sat on the side of the creek, and realized that I wasn't jonesing; I was just content. Good day.

sounds like a day i need..... glad you had a great time! Its good to tackle those trigger events we had....it has always been said, it takes a good year, to get through life events. birthdays, holidays, special places,  etc as a non smoker... to really start to feel the "ahhhhhh", there will come a time when you dont even associate things or places with smoking anymore.. give it time and keep going in your beautiful quit!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
