Dear, Darling Smoke Free Creatures,

Ren reminded me how important accolades and appreciation are to someone quitting smoking.

We may not find it at home, non smokers don't really understand and smokers....well you can't count on them anymore.

So, I want to take this opportunity to tell each and every one of you, how marvelous you are for quitting smoking.

It is a really big deal to conquer a deadly addiction and all y'all are succeeding in a grand manner with a lot of grace.

Considering how crazy the journey can be, I want you to know how admirable you are, for sharing your stories and helping others we may not even hear from or see.

I want you to know that our collective experience can save lives.  That is a mighty precious gift.

Thank you all for your presence, for the gifts you bring and your honesty.

I hope you hear the roar of applause and accept my heartfelt thanks for helping me stay on the good foot.

Y'all are awesome.

Well, right back atcha', Sazerac! :1_grinning:

You're so right: no one in the world can understand the struggles, or the feelings of accomplishment, like those of us that have quit. I sometimes forget that it really IS a big deal.....lives are being saved.

We are ALL warriors and victors.

Hi Saz,  I am so thankful that you suggested I create a pre-response to myself for an SOS situation that might arise in the future. I just went through a particular bad crave/feeling and was going to post an SOS, but I had followed your advice and went and created a pre-response the other day. So before posting an SOS, I read my pre-response and followed it. It took about 1/2 hour of following the advice, but the situation passed and I feel so much better! Thank you, your advice is very much appreciated.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
