I am so sorry to read about the loss of your friend.  How fortunate you were to have that special friend for that many years. I am sure she will be terribly missed. Prayers for you and her other loved ones.

Wanted to share ...going through some of her things today....I came across the full Allen Carr clinic...5  CD,s...I had bought for her..a few years back...

It was still in its origal wrapper ...untouched....

She had told me ...it was lost ,and she doesn't know where it went...........it wasn't that hard to find...

It was a big reminder...a person has to want to quit...and quit for themselves ..not because someone want you too....

So True!! I went through similar with my sister only her addiction was booze. As you state, unless they WANT to make change, it's not going to happen. We can only provide them with the tools and encouragement - not the determination they need. After my sister passed I was angry with her. I felt she had cheated me somehow. I had tried to help her and she didn't do what I had wanted or hoped she would do. I've since realized, it was HER choice, not mine. I did what I could. She just made her own life choices, as poor as they may have been. It's still sad but in both cases Doreen, we did what we could.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
