Laura I think you need to get some rest and re-evaluate your situation tomorrow. Sounds like you should probably stay away from booze in the early days of your quit.

You should come back here tomorrow morning, and don't feel embarrassed! You haven't let anyone down.

You're not a dick, you are human, and you are allowed to make mistakes.

If anything you are a brave human and like the rest of us, capable of fixing your mistakes.

We are here to support you in your roller coaster journey, not judge you.

I have been where you are, over and over again, as well as many others on this forum.

If it makes you feel any better get Jonny to kick your butt with some karate moves but I truly don't think it will help. Just get back on the train and start again.

Oh dear sweetheart, you are gonna feel silly tomorrow when you see your drunk-message.

But honest, no judgements.

You just come back tomorrow and deal with a new day with a clear head.

Now tuck yourself in. And if you leave one foot on the floor it stops the spins.  ;)

Oh Laura...welcome to the club! You are not a dick..you are a Smokoholic (my own word).

Soo...go to bed...you get your spanking tomorrow (it's more fun when you will remember) :-)

Sleep well...see you tomorrow and I will try to whisper :-)

Ugh, I stayed away from alcohol for quite a while when I quit, as to me they went hand in hand.

All is not lost by any means!!  We can still do this.  It's not the end of the world, it just drags out the quitting process, and I want you to get going so that you can start enjoying the fruits of your efforts.

Oh Laura, It's not the end of the world, it really isn't.  You just weren't prepared to drink this early on in your quit.  In the morning, hop back on the train.  We can help you develop a plan to make this quit work.  Try not to beat yourself up, you are where many of us have been.

Hey Laura:

Please come back tomorrow after you've gotten some rest. Don't beat yourself up over this. It's not worth it!

Besides, you're human -- you are allowed to make mistakes. Tomorrow is a new day. We'll be here for you, no matter what.

I will whisper.....

Start again.....as long as you learn by your mistakes....and be more prepared next time.....

I remember action going to a stag party....and half the board went with him....l.ol.

But he got through it.....keeping in touch.....you do what you've got too....

You have my number Laura, you have the board. No one is let down, you just learnt a lesson...too early to drink. Do not give up giving up. This battle you had and the feelings you have...that's because you dont want to smoke anymore. So don't smoke honey, come back and let us help you. I understand you believe we are let down, we are not. I understand you feel silly, you are not, we face down an addiction and we really want to help you too. There is no shame to be had here, nothing to hide from, hell I was quitting for a year before I got this quit on - we get it, let us help you, pretty please. xx

don't feel guilty for letting me down, I'm your friend no matter what.

I don't feel let down at all.  We are all good.

learn from this and go again.

unfortunately it's sometimes the painful lessons that teach us the most.

Laura hunny how you doing now?  Please don't feel you have let anyone down, I havent drunk since last October in preparation for my smoking quit, as all your inhibitions and logic are out of the window when you are drunk,  please come back on, dust yourself down Learn from this, thats the most important thing, learn from it and put what you have learnt into your new quit, don't leave it too long because it only takes a couple of cigarettes for the addict to have you back inside his web of lies, we are all here, we don't judge Laura because at one point or another we have all been where you are right now, we care Laura because we want you to succeed x

Hey guys well I'm seriously hungover and drunk far to much and smoked far to much which obviously I am not feeling great about, but I feel so blessed to have read your messages I'm pleased I did or i may of just thrown in the towel. I'm so happy jon told me about this site and I think I will not be drinking alcohol for a long time.

so I will just have to kill that little monster inside of me again and do some ready.

Loads of Hugs to all of you for supporting me. :-)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
