Trish! You are tough and gorgeous and funny. I'm sorry life is sucking lately. Seems like there is just not enough fun in this world. But you deserve all the good goings that go with not smoking. Back on the horse, missy!

Trish, whoever that person you need to talk to is and whatever the issue, they are not worth it to start/keep smoking and the issue won't be solved by smoking.

I understand your reasoning, I have had the same reasoning too many times, I think at one point I was looking for things that suck and drama, just so I could justify lighting up to myself/others. I'm not saying that you don't have any of those, I'm sure you do, I'm just saying that maybe you fixate on the sucky parts too much for your own good.

Cheer up, and be nice to yourself - keep trying. That's the only way you will find your sticky quit.

Trish, don't ever ever give up trying to quit, its hard, it sucks, it makes you so frustrated sometimes, angry with the world, full of pity, and many more emotions, but these emotions are everyday emotions, smoking is just an addiction and the addiction is making you use all these emotions as excuses, its time to STOP its time to start learning what is important in life, that is YOU don't allow something as deadly as smoking to control your life, you need to take control, don't allow the addiction to grow inside you any longer, if you feel angry use the anger in a positive way, get angry at smoking....its going to kill you! if you feel pity,  feel pity at all the other smokers out there, you've quit, you've done it, every coin has two sides Trish it all depends on whether you want it to be heads or tails, we are all here for you xx

Hey guys...I am still here.  Sorry was gone all day at a softball tournament yesterday.  I realized yesterday that I enjoyed the tournaments much more as a non smoker.  I have enjoyed pretty much everything more as a non smoker.  So I am planning on tomorrow as my new quit date.  Amy and I will have the same date.  I feel happy about it so why do still feel so scared?  In limbo right now.

You feel scared because your inner junkie is fighting to control you. That simple hun. So face that fear, you say it yourself, you enjoyed life more not smoking. Specific events were more enjoyable as is day to day I imagine with breath, finances etc etc. So that's great to go with Amy. You need to stop scaring yourself though, maybe take seriously the one day at a time option this time?  x

Hey Trish:

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this. I haven't been around much lately.

I'm gutted to hear about the relapse :(, but am glad you set a new quit date.

Remember that smoking cannot benefit you in any way. Your junkie mind will try to convince you of such, but don't listen!

Try to remember how you feel right now the next time you consider smoking. Do you want to go back to feeling the way you did? Honestly, the way I felt when I relapsed was far worse than any craving. Remember that all cravings pass in time.

The temporary fix you get from smoking isn't worth the struggle. You can do this. I have faith! Please stay close to the board -- we've got your back. :)

Big hugs.

Don't be scared.... 3 days (or so) of uncomfortable fuzziness and then a couple of months of mind f*ck.  It is really not that big of a deal.  Keep you eye on the prize the whole time.  Deep breathing....water.. and keep yourself busy.... step and repeat.  Don't dwell on your quit but be very aware.  It is sooooooo worth it... I promise... I am a new person living a new life.

it is time to move on to your new life.

As per Ben Bailey on Cash cab.... What do you say...you wanna play?

Get going...let's do this.
