  1. ^^^^^ Exactly! You can get thru the craves, Evelyn, hang tough and never look back :)
  2. Sarah, it sounds like you're doing really good!
  3. Jackie, believe it or not... your craves might be over. Mine ended just a few days after 3 months... since then: freedom! I'm really happy for you!
  4. Tracy... you have become a total: WINNER!!!!! What a wonderful post... I can feel your power over the ugly cig, yes, you have won!!! Good job :)
  5. Exotic Coconut... and there's a new one, Oahu Coconut Sunset that I must try. I'm "coco"nuts, I guess :P
  6. Shaddykat, 7 months and going strong... you got this! Very well done, CONGRATS!
  7. Wow, 10 months already? I swear it was just yesterday that you quit! lol You have done a wonderful job with your quit, and if I recall, you didn't have a lot of trouble either (the attitude is #1 and you have it!) Very well done, Christa!!! Congrats!!!
  8. Carly, what a beautiful job with your quit... you rock! CONGRATS!!!
  9. Sarah, it takes 3 days for the majority of the nicotine to leave your system, so you're almost free from that... afterwards, it's just mind over matter... if you have the attitude that you will continue to be a non-smoker, then you will, and I wish you the very best. Hey, if he keeps texting you, don't respond, not even to say "stop texting me"... he'll get the message :)
  10. I'm checking to see how you're doing today, my friend. Remember to have a plan over the weekend if you crave and you're not near a phone... I'm a watchin you! :P Have a great weekend!
  11. $6,000??? You go, girl!!! The husb and I go to Hawaii about every other year since quitting smoking... we were in Kona last year, next year is looking good for another nice vaycay... here is Kona, 2013:
  12. Colleen, my husband used to also get bad sinus infections, so bad that I would end up taking him a few times a year to the ER (always in the middle of the nite, why is that???) so they could give him morphine because that is the only thing that helped the pain until they’d get antibiotics into him. He quit smoking 10 years ago, and starting as soon as he quit, he hasn’t had one single sinus attack. He gets (what I call) normal colds now, nothing that needs a doctor or pain medication. I’m convinced his sinus troubles were smoking-related too. As for me, one of my favorite things since I quit smoking: I can laugh and laugh and laugh now, and not once do I start choking up a lung 2 seconds later.
  13. Evelyn, you can do this! Make sure you have a backup plan for when those craves come... and write a short list of reasons why you want to be a non-smoker, pull it out and read it when you crave. :)
  14. Ladybug, post of the day!!! I just basically said the exact same thing to Evelyn in her SOS. You and I are so much on the same page, I think you're awesome!
  15. Delta, 5 months quit? Right on!!! Hope to hear more from you because it sounds like you might have some really good advice to give people. As for your quit:
  16. Evelyn, how long have you been "trying" to quit? I'm sorry, I don't know you so I have no idea, but I'm getting the feeling that you are yo-yo relapsing. As long as you continue to believe you will relapse, guess what? You will. You need to get an attitude that will not allow for any reason to smoke, none at all. It sounds hard, but it's not as hard as you think... each time you say NOOOOOOOO to a crave, the next time becomes just a little bit easier, but you need to put in the work. I hope you choose to become a non-smoker because it's really awesome to be free. Rain
  17. How's it going today, Trish? When all else fails, one thing will not fail you: a sense of humor! Hell, if your family are all acting like nuts, then maybe you should rent one of those Vacation movies (Chevy Chase) and make everyone watch it, including the guests! :P Hope you're doing ok
  18. Evelyn, keep a plastic straw cut cig-size with you starting right now... you crave a cig? Smoke that straw because you will only be getting fresh air into your lungs but you will get the ritual of smoking, and that is what we miss more than anything. Seriously, do that... over the years, I have had so many people send me PM's thanking me because they had read my little "trick" and it got them thru the bad times. You can do this! I think your problem is that you expect you will relapse because you did before, so change your behavior, do what I said above... you will come out a winner! :)

    Day 2!

^^^ This right here! I love it when all I have to do is point and say "listen to this". Good advice, soul!
  20. Jackie, 3 months and going strong... major huge groovy congrats from me to you! Ya know, when I was just a touch over 3 months quit, that's when I realized I was done with cigs for good, and from that point on, it's been a wonderful ride, no craves, just freedom... I wish this for you too. :)
  21. Marti, you are rockin your quit, beautiful job!!! Congrats!!!
  22. Wow!!! Thanx so much for the birthday wishes everyone! And you're not late, it's today... lol... seriously though, thank you!!! *big hugs to all*
  23. lol... I just talked about this very thing in another thread, I think it was to a lady named Marti? Anyway, very good post, Ladybug! Rain
  24. Marti, I am totally loving your attitude… you are gonna win this horrible battle because you mean business. I want to mention just one thing: you will not always feel this way. As time goes on, you won’t even think of wanting a cig because it will become really foreign to you… no more craves, no more thoughts about it, just happy with true freedom. I promise you, it will happen. I remember when I first quit, one of my biggest worries was how I was gonna be able to stay quit… and that’s the funny part, the longer you’re quit, the less of an issue it becomes. I wish we knew this before we quit, it would save us all so much anxiety… when I first quit smoking, I should have bought stock in Xanax… lol Anyway, beautiful attitude you have! Rain

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
