  3. Burpees seem bad for people who tore their ACL and meniscus a couple years ago. Or am I just being a whiner? I literally don't want to try even one. They look "ouch"
  4. Ran 5 miles on the mountain today! Twas quite nice... Knees are feeling good from glucosamine - which I forever gave my border collie but not myself. Grateful for my body and especially MY:

  8. Huh? Wikipedia(ed) that one. I want to scream out my primal rage. I hate words sometimes. Inadequate to the core...yet so fun to toy with. Mike, just please come back and write more...I miss your toying with the inadequate.
  9. Markus - how did you keep yourself straight with all the characters and plot? With the gaps that occurred between each release - - did you reread the previous ones each time?

  14. I read the books up to a "Feast for Crows" there were like 20 new characters introduced in the first chapter. It pissed me off so I stopped reading them. Though, admittedly, I enjoyed the books immensely - good escape. Haven't watched the series - need to talk the BF into it.
  15. Ran a mountainous loop with my dog and my Mom's dog (a bichon). The damned Bichon "Morty" took off - - - I couldn't find him for nearly an hour. I thought a fisher cat got ahold of him!!! Kept running the loop until I finally found him under a rock. Thanks Morty for the extra miles I didn't plan on running!!! Argh. Sexercising is more fun after running!!!!! Babs - glad you like the book! Frez - here's to feeling better soon!!! Injuries SUCK.
  16. Ditto - love the new pic.
  17. Thanks for your post. It is therapy to post on this board. Learning to deal with life on life's terms can be heart wrenching. I am so sorry for the trials your family has endured this past year. This cursed addiction has had its way with you and your loved ones. I am glad you are staying strong and being an example to others that this can be beat and hope is possible. I'm also sorry for your pain. Chronic pain is a son-of-a-bitch. Recently I learned a new meditation technique for dealing with pain. Maybe it will help you. When you feel the sensation you call "pain" DO NOT LABEL IT - - do not give words to the sensation. Just experience it without words and let it run its course. Just observe it. I did this with my sciatica and my knee pain (from torn meniscus and ACL) and it has made a world of difference. I hope it helps you (if even just a little bit). Congrats on your 18 months! Thanks for being here.
  18. We grow less intelligent as we age - - - until we're really old and then we start regaining the wisdom.

  23. You don't need an overly intricate plan - all you need to remember is "NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF." That's the gist of it. If you never take another puff you will be successful and you will inspire others.
  24. Just drove for 7 hours with NOT A SINGLE THOUGHT ABOUT SMOKING. Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? So grateful. I know the battle is far from over but I'm quite pumped about this recent revelatory experience.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
