  1. Reading "The Help" Didn't read it back when it was popular - quite enjoyable. Like a dessert.
  2. Mind over matter!!! You got it.
  3. 7 is excellent. Congrats on this milestone!
  4. Keep us entertained with your successes! The newest people on this board are the most important and the most inspirational. We want to celebrate with you as you conquer this insidious addiction.
  5. Lucky number 7! Fo-show.
  6. Whoa, that came out way bigger than planned.
  7. 7/22 - first day of your new life.
  8. $$$$$$$$$$ Ballin' Now!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Congrats and welcome to your new life.
  9. The psychological ties run deep. We have to overcome every single trigger as a non-smoker. Have you been through surgery as a non-smoker? Or any health situation as a non-smoker? Now you must. And you will overcome every challenge one by one. You have to be a sniper. You can't win this war in one shot. It takes a sustained, concentrated effort to mow down each and every trigger you face. You may not even know what's causing the crave but it still demands your fight. You can do this. Believe in yourself.
  10. WELCOME!
  11. I'm with you Ria - - when it comes to addiction people will give up their homes, families, cars, etc. Cigarettes are no different. An addiction is an addiction and no matter what the cost an active addict will find the product and be wiling to pay.
  12. Hey Kendra - like your gravatar. I think that's the key - count the blessings, don't cry about the loss. And yes, it totally is a new life. Pretty amazing, transformative, brilliant. It'll be HARD but nothing really great comes without a fight. Rock on.
  13. Quitting frees up about 2 hours a day. I have a new aquarium hobby. I run. I spend time on this forum. It's all good.
  14. Proud Grandma! :D

    4 Weeks...

A beautiful smoke-free bride. Have fun!!! Enjoy it.
  16. Well done Jess!!! Keep preparing the path for me - I'm trailing rather closely and I like the light you shine.
  17. Such a big deal - total life changer. Many levels of transformation have already taken place.
  18. Not meaningless AT ALL!!! Being able to sit through an entire movie without smoking is a grand blessing... Well done.
  19. Gym sessions will be much better for sure! You will not smell like smoke as you sweat and you will find your performance improving remarkably. You won't feel like you're dying while you work out - - - you won't realize how badly you felt until you finally feel great...and you will feel great!

    WTF

Yeah, that's what this whole forum is FOR!!!!!! To ask for help over and over and over and over again.
  21. It's bullshit. Make poor people poorer.
  22. Woo-hooooooo! A whole year of freedom!
  23. Nicely done!! Looks like fun - surrounded by healthy, happy people (not creeping outside to sneak drags of poison). Well-put on the confidence element. I was a confident kid and a confident adolescent - - - smoking robbed me of that self-esteem. It feels so great to be finding it once again. I have my body back! And my spirit. I already said it twice but congrats AGAIN ------> on 3 years and a successful mud run.
  24. Babs - I appreciate your support on this forum. You are an inspiration. Thanks for being here and congrats on 3 wonderful years of freedom.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
