  1. When our quits are young, we must learn and then practice in a conscious manner, to disconnect and keep separate our quits from all life events. We learn to always keep our quits sacred, protected, and never influenced by any life event that may happen. This dynamic we may call The Proper Sequence, and it is powered by your commitment to Never.Take.Another.Puff. (NTAP). It does not matter what may happen on any day in your life......as long as you maintain in a conscious manner The Proper Sequence dynamic as a primary element of your quit, you will not smoke. The Proper Sequence is: YOU --> QUIT --> LIFE. •NOT•: YOU --> LIFE --> QUIT. By maintaining this simple sequence dynamic in your quit, you will not ever have your quit influenced by life events. If you always keep your quit close to you, protecting it with your commitment to Never.Take.Another.Puff (NTAP), you will never, *EVER*, smoke again. We build our quits, and train our minds, our emotions, and our spirits to live as non-smokers in beautiful freedom by continuing to commit to NTAP. as our way of not smoking, and our way of slowly putting this awful addiction to sleep. Consciously adding The Proper Sequence dynamic to your new non-smoker identity will strengthen your quit even more. Cristóbal (Posted on Day 364)
  2. Is it not amazing how the event of quitting smoking just disappears from your life ??? All the changes, dealing with the triggers, the adjustments a person experiences at the beginning of a quit eventually disappear completely from impacting your life. And then once the addiction is put to sleep, you find yourself alone with just *YOU* - not you *AND* the addiction. The feeling of freedom is just incredible, and it stays with you and grows as long as you do not smoke. Cristóbal
  3. I am so glad that your quit inspired Kelly to quit as well. That is what all of us need to do - inspire every smoker, that everybody can quit smoking permanently, and live in mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual freedom for the rest of their lives. Cristóbal
  4. I have had only one quit. I never tried to quit before, and smoked for about 30 years, about 2 packs a year for most years, since I was a teenager. My friends and family thought I never would quit smoking. I smoked everywhere, all the time, every day. Smoking defined who I was. I just did not smoke cigarettes, I was a *SMOKER*. I quit cold turkey on a whim. Without any education (that came later), I had made a commitment to myself to never take another puff, and just walked away from the garbage. That is all a person really needs to do to quit smoking. NRT, Champix/Chantix, Wellbutrin, hypnosis, vaping, all the other "aids" that are promoted, are not necessary. The only things that *ARE* necessary are: 1. Make your personal commitment to never take another puff. 2. And understand that you can never take another puff !!! Cristóbal
  5. Thank you, all of you !!! I am glad to be here, and hope to continue again many old friendships and make new ones.
  6. In Mexico, we do not have any Indian food. For take out in the regular sense, we really only have pizza and chinese food. The chinese food here is more authentic than in USA, but not completely like the chinese food in china. But, we also have several million taco, burrito, seafood and other asadero (cooked on grill) and whole cooked chicken places that are food for take out. The food is cooked quickly, and you can eat it there or take it home. I have been to UK 3 times, and the fish and chips I had there were wonderful !!!
  7. Yes this is great news, it would be even better if they they would make them illegal in USA, like they are here in Mexico. I remember reading very recently some information about how there are many babies that need to go to the hospital emergency room for nicotine poison because they are able to get the liquid and they swallow it. In my opinion, the less delivery methods available for nicotine, the better. That is the position of the federal government here, why they are banned, and I agree completely with this. We smoked not because we "liked" smoking.....we just thought we did. We smoked because we are nicotine addicts, and the only thing we really "liked" about smoking, is that it relieved the withdrawl symptoms caused by smoking the previous cigarette. All the other "positive" things we thought smoking did for us, were simply mental and emotional garbage. Cristóbal
  8. Hi Fay, It is wonderful to see you, I remember when you started your quit and some of your posts, I am so glad to see that you are doing so well !!! :) :) :) Cristóbal
  9. Indigo, I am very glad that you responded to my last post. Keep going !!! Realize that everything that is uncomfortable about quitting smoking is only temporary....but the long term benefits and peace of mind, emotions and spirit are permanent. With time, you will reach a place in your quit and your life where you will not deal with in any way challenges that are related to smoking. Believe those who have quit before you. They know !!! The addiction goes to sleep, and you are left with just *YOU*. The only people who crave smoking, are those that continue to feed the addiction, and those that recently left the addiction behind. Those people who continue forward in their quits, find their complete mental, emotional, and spiritual freedom. This includes craves of all types. This is not just a promise....this is a fact. Keep posting, do not let this quit ever go away hold on to it as if it was the last breath of your life....because it is. Let us know what your challenges are, and we will help you find your way, because we have been where you are now. Cristóbal
  10. I am here !!! (and not over "there" any more). It is so nice to see again people that I have known for a long time, I hope to be able to contribute in a very positive manner to this forum. Do you do wine parties here ??? :D :D :D
  11. Hello Indigo, How are you doing ??? It has been some days since you posted. Let us know, because even if you are still smoking, your support group cares about you. That is why members continue to post to your thread. It can be so easy to just continue to smoke and think that you will quit again in the future, but the problem now is that if you are smoking, that you may not find the strength and motivation to start another quit for a very long time. Internet quit smoking forums are full of posts from smokers who throw their quits away, then start them only years later. And if this happens - continuing to smoke for a long time - you may be coming back here to announce that you now have a smoking related disease to go with your new quit. Smoking kills 50% of smokers, average of 13 years early - the probabilities are not in your favor if you continue to smoke. If you are not smoking, then let us know too, these are the moments when support can really help in the early days of a new quit. It is important to realize that quitting smoking permanently is possible for every smoker. The key to growing a permanent quit, can be found in education about nicotine addiction and the process of separation from this addiction, and that is what the members of this forum do so well, they provide both to those starting their quits. Let us know how you are doing, please check in. Cristóbal

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
