  1. Yeah, I know. There's so much smoking going on in the original book wouldn't be surprised if smoke started drifting off the pages of my copy. But in the book Irene Adler wasn't a dominatrix!!! They also had BBC Sherlock wearing nicotine patches! Keep watching, maybe he and the writers will surprise us and he'll quit and be full-time addicted to fighting crime, and maybe smoking too! Glad to see you on the board. PS As for Sherlock's deeper addictions... a dark horse, there. Maybe writers will deal with that, too. Might be good if they did... could be interesting, eh?

  7. i'm not sure what that means ~ out FOR ass???...>>>...i'm feeling really depressed and unfun, the worst since quitting, nothing physical, that's going great but now the head trips are starting which is pissing me off did ranch work for 6 1/2 hours this weekend and did nothing for my lousy mood just gonna go to sleep hate this shiz (right word? picked up from smarty) also embarrassed myself on other thread...oh well, so what, no stench, all perfumy on outside but maybe mental farting becoming a problem....
  8. Haha, right, not prescribed. I'm too new at this to have anything figured out. I think I need to drink a lot more water, that's all I know now.
  9. Congratulations!!!
  10. I made a mistake jumping on a thread where I didn't belong. I need to stay focused and GTQ. Thanks.
  11. If I was out of line, I apologize. I might have been confused about this site. I thought it was for those who had already quit and needed support, or those he had relapsed and were into a new quit.
  12. Smoking did help me with all those things listed, and more...at a price. If smoking didn't have any positive affects for the smoker, the smoker would not have become an addict. I know people with asthma who smoke because it brings short term relief...at a price. Smoking never helped me very much with physical pain or allergies. Everyone is different, with their own hurdles to jump...
  13. not like....but love love LOVE...
  14. Love the video clip Markus offered. This is sacred! Think I'll watch it every Sunday for the next year.
  15. I think about you and your story often, Doreen. Hope you're having a great day (evening, I think) in Liverpool!
  16. I should say...relapse is not part of the game...anymore. Relapse is that dreaded word everyone knows well. In fact, everyone knows it so well that when you tell people you've quit smoking ...other smokers and nonsmokers say "Great..." but that's about all...because they've heard this SO MANY TIMES BEFORE... I understand that the final quit, the sticky quit...requires a total rewiring job. But many aspects of this quit feel the same as other quits. Quitting is quitting. Maybe other people feel like if they relapse they'll just get back on the train... I don't feel that way. I feel like this is my last chance. I feel like I don't have any more quits in me but this one. Any thoughts on relapse would be welcomed....
  17. Before coming onto this site I was thinking in terms of 3 months...by 3 months I'll be fine. Now I don't think that's the case. Now I'm thinking in terms of a year, MINIMUM, commitment to learning all about maintaining the final quit. From everything I've read here. the master quitters worked really hard for the WHOLE FIRST YEAR. Relapsing is not part of my quit program.
  18. Hope you read post by Markus on this. Having the "pull" (that's what I call it) ambush me is the most tiresome thing I'm having to deal with right now. Post by Markus called something like "When will this get better?" ~~ Good Luck. Hope you do more posting...
  19. To all Mama Goddesses: You reign!
  20. This is a great reread. I could read it every Sunday...to secure my quit, and get my thoughts straight for the week ahead...
  21. Thanks for this. I know what I'll be watching tonight...it's not Breaking Bad, but I think that watching this will secure my quit for the coming week! :wizard:

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
