  1. I love this. Got on Doc Martins. Will be stomping out all smoking pulls today, like St. Pat stomped on all snakes. Seriously love this advice. Village idiot dares to be wise. Nice work.
  2. CONGRATS ON 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!! :)
  3. I want to do an official St. Pat's Day count of all unsmoked cigarettes posted on NOPE today. I'll do it around 10 p.m. I'm like around 400 unsmoked, which for oldsters seems like a starter count, but to me it's awesome, and creepy I AM SO SO SO SO GRATEFUL TO BE A NONSMOKER! PLEASE POST A NOPE!

Crikey, it's taking forever just to hit 6 weeks...
  5. I thought you were calling larklibby Elton. Can he be Elton too? He has a band. I think maybe Elvis for Elvis Costello. But this absurd naming is your village business, not mine.
  6. Exercise and Healthy Living in something called Non Smoker's Lounge...then "Food for Thought"...go there...and shine!
  7. Right underneath S.O.S. there's section called "Introductions and About Us"...go there and make a post and you'll have to tell your story all over again, then your big fan club of people will start showing up and all will pet you and hug you and welcome you and love you up because your young and cute and big time talented but most of all a NONSMOKER, and they will ask you to cook for them...there is also a place...down in Socializing Section, I think...where people post pictures of what they made for dinner...I'm sure you would become the rock star of that section...
  8. I know when alcoholics are in rehab they are given huge amounts of B vitamins to calm down central nervous system. Seems like this might work for early quit jangled nerves. I wouldn't think it's a permanent solution...but think I'm going to experiment for a few weeks. Niacin is the primary B Vit that's needed...I think...but not the kind that gives you that hot rush which is what the ....who are those people who do the detox thing?....recommend. Just a plain B complex is okay, I think, but taken daily with commitment...maybe twice daily for a week or two.
  9. When I'm raging insane I'm going to listen to your song to remind me I'm going through something good, but serious. Thanks. Loving it.
  10. On the forums, go down to where it says Introductions...whatever. You'll find it. What kind of mushrooms? About emotions....I have been insane and have had to apologize to everyone on this site several times now which is getting old. Consider we used smoking to stuff down emotions ~ and now emotions have free reign and are dancing all over the place. It's tiresome, but they got to settle down and stop partying when we're trying to concentrate on our jobs and life and stuff. Can't we use food to soothe them? Like good grains and stuff? I think you should post a nonsmoker menu of the day.
  11. Lambie, you're a beautiful dude, but what's for breakfast? You cooking today? Ever since I quit smoking I love, love, love breakfast. For me, green smoothie today.
  12. When are you gonna jump from the S.O.S. and onto Introduction Section? Like, now?
  13. oH, MAN, THAT'S YOURS????????????
  14. Oh Cilia, Cilia, please come back I miss your little hands. To those who have gone through a couple of allergy seasons smoke free, does it get better? Any advice? Guess I'll be switching from steam heat vaporizor to cool mist, because my bronchial tubes/chest are not feeling good. Newbies, stay with me. We don't want ANY MORE DAMAGE, RIGHT???
  15. Excellent taste! I think current BBC version is genius...filming...modern uplevel etc. ~~ doesn't need the smoking and drug use, really, to tell a good story. They have already tried to cure Sherlock of his sociopathy...they are 50% on their way to getting him entirely clean. Haha. Which would make him all the more cool. And you're cool to be on this site! Remember what the master quitters keep telling us...eventually all unwanted symptoms will subside and freedom to live a powerful, self-dictated life will be the daily coin of the realm.
  16. not logic....but wisdom, earned the hard way, and delivered to others, with grace and humility. thank you.
  17. Hah. Dance on, Elton! :music2: :music2: :music2:
  18. lung/chest pain today...from (sunday) hay dust. cilia not working 100%. recording so will stay out of denial. will try for some walking and hills today but easy. will just try in general to stay off couch during free time today. 1 month 11 days quit.
  19. This is the number of unsmoked cigarettes I tallied up ~~ of all who pledged nope today, up to now, and who have their quit meter displayed. 141, 973 cigarettes avoided by just a small number of people ~ as recorded on this site today, right here, right now. It blows my mind! That's a lot of smokes not stinking up the atmosphere, a lot of butts not thrown on the ground, and a lot of happy lungs. Newbies...your unsmoked cigarettes are in there, too! I'm proud my 399 unsmoked cigarettes are included in this number.
  20. Well, it seems totally weird to sit in my smoke free home watching people smoke on a small screen. As for being in a bubble...my bubble will be as smoke free as I can make it ~~ for now. I know others don't mind smoke or smoking in various settings...that's why I started this thread. I was curious.
  21. I bought a purple pencil sharpener.
  22. "grab the hard part and own it"..............................that works for me.............................thanks..................today lungs hurt from sucking in hay dust so guess my cilia aren't yet up to par.......have to stop worrying about the pull of the habit...............worry instead about the damage done to my body.................... want as much as my body back as i can get......................then want ALL of my mind and willpower back to use on things way more enjoyable................................what your "starting now" thread shows is there's a time limit on "this sucks" ................my favorite part you wrote about was how all the things you did got free of smoking pull, just regular chores and tasks...........they all came back to you smoke free...............so i am waiting on that...............that's what i want....................thanks

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
