  1. Whatever works. Now I think of smoking as like drinking a bottle of bleach. Have heard people kill themselves like this...and one has to ask, why would one pick such a shitty way to die? Why indeed. Same with cigarettes only tobacco industry devils managed to brainwash everyone. Whatever works. Watched gnarly videos MQ suggest we watch. Can't get picture out of my head of lady smoking through hole in her throat. Once you get creative there a many different ways to paint the picture...can paint with shit, bleach, chemo drugs, blood, tears, pus, phlegm, tar, moth balls, firebomb, chemical smoke, smoked flesh, and cauliflower, because I hate the smell of cauliflower boiling on the stove. Yuk. Having fun getting creative...oh, burned rubber, yeah gasoline, paint thinner, varnish remover, insect repellent, gas chamber...
  2. Today was a beautiful day. Overall this has been a difficult quit process. Emotional roller coaster. But hanging in there! Sleep is my friend!
  3. Sooooooo good to hear from you, Tymie! Was thinking 'bout you all weekend. Have a great week strutting around in those big girl pants. Mine are getting a bit tight! So guess who is going to get serious about exercise this week? As they say here...only way forward is through. (Excuse me now as I have to go finish up the last of the ice cream. )
  4. I read that only 1 out of every 7 people who tries to quit smoking succeeds in maintaining a lasting quit. My mind refuses to wrap around these numbers, although it seems to be the accepted statistic. It's scary. Every time I have a thought about smoking it's...a tiring and boring irritation. That's just where I am now. The periods when I don't think about smoking are...so great. But those thoughts do pop up even when I'm minding my own business...kind of like the sound of the yapping coyotes in the hills. It's far enough away that I feel safe, but still... a bit creepy. This coming week I need to try out my best Liverpool scouse talk and laugh em down. ("Get ought a here, stupid thought.") Have a good week all, especially Karl (larks), Evelyn, Jackie, Tyme, Ricki M, Teary Eyed and all others newly learning to be 100% I don't smokers. Guard, bless, and love your quit. I will do the same with mine. (shout out to eriklambie who right now is somewhere good, I am sure, thinking up cool lyrics and even cooler menus, what's for breakfast, dude?)

  6. Keeping busy, that's the spirit. Have a great day, Evelyn. And remember to bless your quit and keep it safe from all harm. I'll do the same with mine. xox
  7. Way to go, Evelyn. But have a couple of Twix, too, because those videos are gnarly and can leave a bad taste in the mouth! :wizard:
  8. Heartfelt Congratulations!
  9. Congratulations. Hope you're feeling good, over your man cold and all that. Three weeks is awesome, larks. Well done you!

  12. When you were a smoker trying to quit did you sometimes wish you could buy "just one"? In my town a few stores used to sell single cigarettes. The singles they sold were stinky and stale and expensive, and it was like the tobacco industry was laughing in your face like "gotcha!" you will even buy a stale cigarette. What's next?, picking butts up out of the gutter? Sure, you can bum one. But then when you get home, and it's late, and the demon's awake? Then who's in charge? When you relapsed, do you remember thinking, "I wish I didn't have to buy a whole pack... I only wanted one, or two." ? When you relapsed, do you remember thinking, "I just bought this pack today and it's full. I'll quit tomorrow..." ? When you relapsed, did you find a crushed up cigarette pack in a pocket, with one or two left ? Do you remember your jolt of pleasure? The tobacco industry knows. It knows it's in charge because you are the addict. That pack of 20 -- those industry devils must have had it figured out --- the average amount in a day's supply for the addict. A smoke or a couple every hour, just enough to keep the fire stoked... Hell, if smokes were sold as singles...you might have to work harder to get from one smoke to the next...there might be time...to THINK. The tobacco industry doesn't want thinking smokers on its hands. It wants addicts. It's a powerful thing to quit. It's a powerful thing to wake up in the morning and feel deep down inside, "I'm in charge. I drive the bus. I say what I do with my time today. I spend money on things I like today. I am a free person today." The tobacco industry devils aren't going anywhere. They are at the edge of the parking lot, with their brass knuckles on, blowing smoke downwind, towards you. They want you addicted. They don't want to politely offer you "just one" --- they want you addicted to one times a billion+. When you're dead they will step over your body and stalk the next victim. So, who's in charge of YOUR WORLD today???
  13. Catfight.Not.Guys addressed too just didn't respond Relapse. Not. Demon beaten down. Markus's words work well. Just think, "Cigarettes hurt." Same as drinking bleach
  14. OH SHIT, I AM DESIGNING A RELAPSE. OF COURSE. SORRY. MY BAD. HAHA. SERIOUSLY. I'M OUT OF HERE. PARTY ON. I NEED TO, HMMM, ATTEND TO THIS...NOW.
  15. You are basically doing exactly what I said. Illustrative. Trying to erase nonsense but there's too much. Crying's not a sin. Just trying to erase nonsense. Hmmm, I think...that was attacking. Because I am...hmmm...defending. Really stupid games.
  16. I am not a duck, or even a newbie. Bakon said not to quantify, and I say don't qualify...so.. "I don't smoke". That's it. I didn't attack anyone, and was treated in a really sucky manner. Oh, and secret rules and history.. I don't know about them because I wasn't there. (Explaining rules and history in a secret language i.e barely comprehensible is not explaining anything...) Playground exclusivity sucks, even in fun. Bullying sucks, even in fun. Is this attacking? I think not. I think I am simply exercising the freedom of expression this site is supposedly based on. But I don't know. I wasn't there. It would be really rude now to tell me to just chill out and breath in and out. That's not responding, it's just...rude. This isn't just a squabble. It's a question for you guys ~~~ about the platform you are going to establish to make newcomers feel welcome. Now... delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete delete

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
