where we are vacationing so I ran down to the store (and am literally sitting in the middle of their floor) to get online to tell y'all.......... I'M ONE MONTH SMOKE FREE TODAY !!!!! Had a few rough spells right before we left, but just muddled my way through and what greater reward to be spending time with the family NOT smoking !!!! I love it. Keep the quit everyone. It's all worth it. Every little struggle (or big) makes you stronger and stronger in your belief in yourself.

I had to take my second son to the urgent care to get a stitch in his hand and never made it home from work prior to this little adventure. I decided to get goofy and really made the old lady with the corn cobb stuck up her ass mad. Here's why....... I gave that poor old woman hell. And while I was there.... I found this !!!! They are using expired lube on their patients !!! 4 and a half year old lube. They must REALLY not like their patients at all !!!!

That's an awfully big shoe. Doesnt' your foot slide around alot in there ?

Evelyn, I hope so. You can do this but you just have to put your mind to it. Nothing bad will happen if you don't smoke. It's the weirdest thing. I thought for a long time I was gonna never feel better, never know what to do if I didn't smoke...... but it does happen. You actually start to feel ALOT better. And you find new things to do that are so much healthier. I want to see you succeed at this. We can't stop for you. We can only be here if you call for help. I hope that you stick with it this time. Your only torturing yourself with all this indecision. Please make a committment and stick to it.

I am now on day 20 of not smoking and I feel GREAT !!! And in 6 days, I will be going on my first full family vacation SMOKEFREE !!!! It will be the first time in over 30 years, my parents will see me without a cigarette hanging out of my mouth. My kids and I will be able to relax and enjoy each other without me thinking when I will get my next fix. And I rented a smoke free condo ON THE BEACH where we can sit outside and truly inhale the fresh air. I'm so excited I could just pee. This IS my quit. I'm owning this bitch.

I just drove by 2 pools that looked so blue and clean. How I wish I could go swimming right now....... instead I am gonna do some paperwork. :( Oh, and I'm eating dinner off of a blue plate. lol

he wanted to surprise me with dinner. I was so thrilled and thought it was the sweetest thing. He made tunafish..... with celery, eggs, mayo, sweet relish and tuna. He put it all in the blender and we just had tunafish soup. I need to teach this kid how to cook. Or at least how to make tunafish WITHOUT using a blender.

(((Doreen)))) I know that feeling. It's hard to see your kids go no matter how big they get. That's why I tell my son he's not allowed to date until after he gets married. And I'll pick out the wife. He's not going for it yet, but I still have some time to convince him. lol Hope you get to feeling better. Love ya !!!

He was a blessing to MY life. El Bandito, I met him on the board. And he turned out to be a really good friend. Babs is right, he seemed to be looking for his purpose in life. I wish he had gotten more time to fulfill that. I am not sure that I am the person to ask about him. I only knew him for a year. Others knew him so much longer. I can tell you this..... he was an amazing man. He loved nature, he was shy, he was very very smart and insightful. He got hurt easily and loved like he had never known pain. The way he would put things was so profound and yet so full of humor. He hated aol. And his boss. Her name was Darlene and she had a crush on him and made his life hell. lol When we first started talking, we talked about our bucket list. It was via emails and he emailed me his just as I emailed him mine. Out of 10 things, we listed 8 of the same. I still laugh about that. But the irony of it all does not escape me. I was a little nervous meeting him (ok, alot) cause of course we met on an internet site and that just seemed so weird. So before he came here, he gave me all his info and I had some friends run him just to make sure he wasn't crazy. How little did I know I just met the gentlest giant........... I do believe God had His hand in this. The one person that he meets on there is a hospice director at the largest cancer institute in America and he moves to Texas. And he would have celebrated 4 years free from smoking this last March. I think about that. We never know what life is going to throw at us so we may as well just enjoy the ride. Like he said.......he didn't quit to extend his life, he quit to live it better. I think about him often. He would tell me that that summer was the best summer he had ever had. I have to say it was fun.

I love this statement. Very powerful. I didn't want to quit when I started this a year and a half ago. Honestly, I thought if I did want to, I could quit anytime I wanted. It wasn't until my son asked me to quit that I basically said "fine, I'll quit." I really thought I would just quit long enough to satisy his little demand and then start back up again. I had no clue. But I have a responsibility to him and my daughter. I owe them this. I owe myself this. I love them enough to love myself more. And sometimes that's all it takes. One question by someone we cherish to make us see the light. I am so proud of you El Bandito man. You have done awesome !!!
