  1. I will not smoke today!
  2. Yep. Booze always lowered my inhibitions. Then the shit started to happen. It's nice to not have to worry about that smoking trigger!
  3. ^^^ lol, cpk!
  4. I have admired, the others who have posted how quitting smoking was a "touch stone" and such, to other endeavors for them. I'm having flashes of seeing new possibilities now, instead of "always", just dreading what's coming. Nice to feel. I hope it happens more. You guys lead the way. I'll follow!
  5. I don't have that courage to do that yet "-". But, you pave the way. I need to address lots.
  6. Oh! I got it "-" Thank you, for this post ...
  7. Quickly, I haven't again. I was reading a thread, in which El Bandito had stated in it, as he has to me too, "Quits fall down for all sorts of reasons, and I will not judge anyone. If someone wants to quit - I will do everything in my power to help and support, but I do believe that the person needs to have a very close look at why they failed - rather than keep on the same old cycle". Reading that bolded statement again, outside of it being queried to me, made me think a little more about it. I don't have answers that can encompass the true nature of all of it, yet. But, I know a couple of things now. 1) Complacency with the quit. 2) Looking for solace. 3) Decision to destroy myself or another way to put that, "ruin myself", (remember this is me, not anyone else). That's all I have now. That's enough for me actually. Now to address these, and guard against it happening again ... * El Bandito: I'll send you a link for the thread's quote in a PM. No need to respond.
  8. I love that one too!
  9. I will not smoke today.
  10. Oh! I miss John. Talking earlier about, "spinning yarns", he told the best ones. I liked the one about putting another nicotine patch on each day. He had people believing that one. lol!!!

Stop with the animated stuff, would you? Good messages but, they bother my eyes. This little you have done is only annoying to me. I worry others are gonna start following you with Flying Pigs spreading sparklies out it's rear! Oh well. 6
  16. Good point, ^^^ (the allergies). Mine is worse now, with the snow-mold and the dust now, that hasn't been washed away yet.

    0 Hey Colleen!
  18. I second that, ^^^. Share any tid-bits, for we newbies, that you feel might help.
  19. You know of course, I am a huge supporter of, "One Day at a Time". This thread had me thinking, (let's call it that okay) of a book I have of Viktor Frankl titled, "Man's Search for Meaning". One of the things he asserts in it is, that in reality there is only now. He goes on to show, that by changing what we are now, we effectively erase the past. Our lives become as if, we were never different before and that we are, what we imagine and work towards. I am not going to debate about how one can argue for or against his assertion. I do find his assertion having more and more truth in my life, as I am older, than the years ago, when I had to agree solely, because of spiritual beliefs alone. My chiropractor moved 350 miles away with my hard copy of it so, I stole a copy on line. I'll have to read it again, when I can concentrate well enough to enjoy it.
  20. Wonderful, Chrysalis! A fantastic achievement. Be proud of yourself. You deserve to be. I'll see you up on the lido deck in a little while. Save a lounging chair for me. I'll buy.
  21. Thanks. Stories. I can always, spin one up. True of course. Usually upon reflection, life is just funny. Even if I was crying at the time it happened. No, I'll leave the gory ones for now. My mom is like that. If my dad and I started talking medical stuff, she would have to leave the room. So, we tried not to, in front of her. She's in a nursing home now, so it's not going to ever happen again.
  22. Well of course. I didn't know that ever but, I see it now.
  23. Hey Evelyn. I'm in for a ride today.
  24. Damned if I can remember who is "Pimp". Is it Scott? The ladies liked the way he talked! Maybe it was MQ? Joe? I don't think Markus has one. Ya. I think maybe MQ. Help me out here ...
  25. I guess I should acknowledge what Agent 13 said. I'm also know as, Chief Chief of the boards.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
