  1. Soon grasses & trees will start. And with this weather there seems to be a lot of allergens floating around...yup dust & mold Mike.
  2. Hi Raya! Welcome to QT. I'm a Newbie. Any words of experience are SO welcome here!
  3. Since you have asthma Evelyn I am wondering if you also have allergies? Certainly allergies would cause the kind of symptoms you are describing. And a change in seasons brings on allergies. But when in doubt, see your Physician. Hope you feel better quickly. xx
  4. Ev stay strong! You would be so angry at yourself if you gave in & even shared one. Every so often I think I smell smoke but it goes away quickly. My friends who smoke are not smoking around me....not yet anyway. I will be fine eventually to be around other smokers but it's tough right now. I sure don't need any temptations.... not at this point. We all have to guard our Quit.
  5. Ha ha ha! That is TOO funny babs!
  6. Thanks Jenny. So good of you to say.....will be nice to get over the tough part....but it WILL happen. NOPE! Forever....
  7. Nope Woohoo Mike! Show off!!! Lol!
  8. Welcome Fergie! Lots of Newbies here! We are all happy to help you succeed with your Quit :) I smoked for 40 years. The combined years of experience here NOT smoking will help you so very much. No need to be good on a computer....just post every day that you can. It truly helps to know you are not alone :) Congratulations on your Quit
  9. I did buy a sleep aid after talking to my Pharmacist today. I am allergic to Melatonin so the rest are all much the same. I went for a walk, cleared some pressing issues off my desk & plan a relaxing evening. Insomnia....go away!
  10. You are right Marti...there is "other stuff" totally out of my control contributing to the insomnia. However, I would normally be able to cope....back in my smoking days....I just have to learn new ways to cope as this other issue is not going to go away anytime soon. And I am trying to do that....learn to cope differently. I only thought smoking helped. With the new big girl pants CPK introduced me to I WILL learn. You are very perceptive Marti. Thanks! .
  11. Insomnia has returned. Did not get to sleep till 6 am today. Having trouble getting up every morning doesn't help any. Likely too much sleep is contributing to insomnia. I need a schedule....get up & get moving. Read lots of info & watched videos. Some people go through smoking withdrawl longer than others. Some have shared their experience here so I know I'm not alone. It WILL go away. I'm going to try an OTC sleep medication to get myself back on track. A walk is on my list today. I have to get over this withdrawl.
  12. Excel strong mint gum Day Dreaming
  13. Here & still smoke free Doreen. Thanks for checking on us Newbies! Doing ok....withdrawl is a bitch for some of us. But it sure makes you never want to do it again! The support on thr Board is very helpful.

  15. Smober! Love that term Mike! Glad you are here & wishing you success Rob!
  16. Thanks BumBle....it helps to know that others have experienced this too. Not that I would wish it on anyone. But the best part is that it WILL lift! That is such good news! I can hang in there. Lots of good ideas from people to try....and I AM trying
  17. Not feeling as bad as I was. From what I have read it's withdrawal. It WILL go away. One day at a time. Have not smoked or used NRT. Sleep is my good friend right now. I'll be fine
  18. CPK...I just got myself some big girl pants too!! Yahoo! They WORK!!! Thanks for the Sassy Style Support....
  19. A great inspirational read Markus! Wish I could fast forward!!!
  20. Great job Ricki! This process is very individual. Just keep your NOPE in site no matter what. Best not to adjust any meds right now....the fatigue affects some of us more than others. The pride of being a non smoker keeps us going! Good for you!
  21. I'm here! Slowly getting past a bad case of withdrawal....but doing it! No smokes & no NRT. How are you doing CPK?
  22. Looking awesome Nancy!!
  23. Whoohoo Mike! Keep going buddy:)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
