  4. I was so busy forgetting I ever used to do that awful habit that I forgot I am 3 months QUIT today!!! Lol! Thank you to CPK for reminding me to post!!! Yaaay! Wine on Wednesday? Lol!
  5. NOPE for 3 months as of April 28, 2015. Today!
  6. I agree with Everyone else Michelle. There does seem to be a Quitter's Flu. I too felt pretty awful but it gets better. I was not at all prepared for the healing process & the nasty toxins leaving my body. Reading, watching Joel's videos & help on this site got me through it. I wanted to sleep a lot in the first week too & had all kinds of physical aches & pains. They eventually did go away. But seeing your Doc is a great idea. Your Doc will be very happy with your decision to Quit & will help you through it. Seeing a Doc will help with any heAlth fears you are having too. I think many of us go through that as a part of the whole process. You are doing great! You WILL win! It all takes time & it does get frustrating but when you look back & see how far you have come you will be so proud & you will want to help another Newbie with all the stuff you have just come through yourself. I do! Good luck!!!
  7. If your head is full of NOPE then it makes it impossible to think Yes!
  8. Michelle you had thd strength to say Nope. That's what counts. Soon you won't have those nasty craves & if you do they get shorter...believe me. Time....everything worth having takes time & that includes your Quit.
  9. Great job CPK!!! You will finish that 10K too whether you walk or run because you are a Winner! 3 months is fantastic! A rough road that is finally becoming paved! You go girl! Cyber hugs!
  10. You are doing GREAT! You can do this! I remember feeling proud & energized at the end of my first week....it really IS a big deal!!!! Treat yourself! You deserve recognition....keep pushing forward one day at a time
  11. One day at as time Michelle. It's so overwhelming to think beyond. My mantra everyday when I got up was "I don't smoke". Things to fill the gap are important...for me chewing gum worked well. Yup!y morning coffee (1cup) and my chewing gum lol...strong flavours work well! You can do this! Once you get to a certain point you won"t feel the craves as strongly or as often. And you have to want this: Michelle doesn't smoke anymore. We are there for you every step of the way. Xxxx
  12. Good article Markus! Thanks for posting it! The video helps too Maryland
  13. Mr Bakon: We have come a long way in our Quit & have NEVER relapsed. I am very happy for you that you had an easier time of quitting than some of us. We have persevered because of the support on this site....and because we want to remain smoke free. We are winning, we are doing our best & we are getting help because we actually describe how we are feeling. And others respond kindly & helpfully. I am not sure why you are making the comments you are....maybe you are trying to be funny? In any case we ARE doing our best, sharing ideas & talking to each other.....a lot better than relapsing ! Who would EVER want to repeat a tough QUIT again? We will not be offended if you don't read our sites or posts if they are upsetting to you in any way.
  14. Wishing you success
  15. Soon you will not want to smoke either!
  16. Me too! Me too! Lol
  17. Love your emoticons CPK! So very happy you are feeling better! xoxo
  18. Toni being on this site is very helpful. You also have your husband's support as you help each other through a huge transition in your lives. Some people seem to have an easier time of it than others. We are ALL individuals & although many of our quit smoking experiences are very similar, some are not. However,in saying that, there is a wealth of experience on this train & wonderful support. I QUIT on Jan 28, 2015 after smoking for 40 years. Yes you have to quit for YOU. We all will help you. Many people on this site as well as my Doctor have told me it takes about 6 months to feel comfortable in our new lifestyle as non smokers. I too am still gaining weight which is caused by the decrease in our metabolic rate....we have to watch what we put in our mouths too. Celery sticks help me and I am conscious of overeating. Water really helps fill you up plus it's good to flush out the years of toxins. Stomach problems are not uncommon initially in a Quit but as Joel says....anything lasting over 2 weeks needs medical attention so see your Doc. Welcome to the board & best of luck....we will ALL be available to help you through your quit. The knowledge out there is incredible! Joel Spitzers Video Library & Blogs are helpful as well. Good luck & please stay in touch! It gets harder every time so make this Quit your last. I wil never go through this again! Nope.
  19. Cheers!
  20. Rhodilia is an herbal supplement that is helpful in giving you energy & uplifting mood. Has healing qualities. BUT does NOT work for sleep. Helps depression & anxiety but should be taken in the morning....CPK is knowledgeable abut this & feels wonderful after taking it! Shd would nog mind you asking asking. Best to send her a PM.
  21. Thank you! I am so happy I have reached this point. I will NEVER go back. Now just need to get rid of insomnia , live again ☺
  22. I can't even imagine going back to smoking. I have no urges or cravings at 12 weeks thank heavens! Just insomnia....but I am getting medical help for that. I can't imagine EVER going through this again It gets worse every time Congrats Ava & everyone else here on our train. We have done this because we have HEART! Yes we deserve treats!
  23. Thanks! Truly could not have got this far without your encouragement & caring. ☺
  24. You are doing a wonderful job TEW! We are all proud of you and you certainly should be very proud of yourself. You have resisted temptation & guarded your Quit. I have read on this site & others about struggling at the point you are at now. Takes special people to resist & you are special ☺ Yes! We understand the strength it takes to Quit & face the challenges to maintain it. And we are ALL herd to support you! Thanks for the warning. I wish I HAD been better prepared from the start but I figured it out eventually. Good job TEW xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
