  1. Best wishes to you Mike! You have to do what is best for you & most of all live life! Wishing you smobriety & happiness. xx
  2. You are SO right!!!
  3. Thank you! I'm good to keep going now!
  4. Well written Babs! So very true for all of us once we reflect back.
  5. Evelyn I am SO happy for you!!! I too tried NRT but yes Bakon & others were right....it just does NOT work. It may give one a false sense of security to get them to fear the Quit less initially but it is not any help at all with actually quitting....it makes it worse. Glad you are secure in your Quit! It isn't easy is it? Wishing you the best as we move forward...those bumps in the road we suffer through during our journey to Freedom make sure we'll never want to go through this EVER again!
  6. Tyme2B is very happy to announce that my insomnia is under control....finally....and despite this setback my Quit is safe!! Moving onwards & upwards. Thanks for all the support. This was one H... of a test! But with your help I won....NOT the Nicotine!!!! Very impressive that a Forum & new friends can have such an impact on a person's life! I am most grateful for all of You who reached out.
  7. Oh wow Raya! Congratulations! Good for you!!! Tyme
  8. Hi! I'm here! Whoops! Twice!!!
  9. You WILL move forward Jackie because now you know what to expect & how to fight those nasty craves off. They will lighten up soon. You are stronger than they are. It IS scary....no one in their right mind ever wants to go through the misery of a Quit again! Bakon showered & sitting in flip flops? Is this a mental pic or did I miss something????
  10. Congrats!!!
  11. Congratulations Ava! This is a very proud time for you & I feel honoured to share it! Hope you are giving yourself a treat today! xx
  12. Absolutely!!! I DO like your style!
  13. Welcome to the Train, Marie. You will find many people on this site are knowledgeable, helpful & caring. Just stay in touch! I remember being a baby quitter not long ago at all & wishing I could grow up too! And now I want go grow forever! Lol!
  14. Well I think I should wrap up this thread with a positive! With the help of my Doctor I am finally sleeping. Withdrawal was not the only cause of a 9 week insomnia! Although I waited longer than the 2 weeks Joel recommends for ongoing symptoms after a quit as they may not be Quit related in retrospect I really should have asked for medical help before I did. However, after some trial & error with medication I am now sleeping (man it's great!) And once I am sleeping well again I can stop the medication. My heartfelt THANKS to All of you for helping me through this! Without you....well I had you, so the positive is that I guarded by Nope with your help! Onward & upward to my next 3 months and for always
  15. Thanks Everyone! I celebrated with wine & danced all evening!! Lo! It IS awesomd Bakon said "cool beans" twice Jessica! I must have really surprised him! Lol!
  16. Good job! You can do this! It"s hard work but SO rewarding
  17. Jackie I am so pleased you were able to work your way through this. Obviously one of those really bad days plus you have other "stuff" going on. You will have some bad days but the good days will outweigh the bad ones...believe me, it just takes time. If you van reduce any of the stress in other parts of your life...then avoid it. I had to do that & avoiding stress is not easy but sometimes it is necessary & even possible when you look at things individually rather than as a whole, overwhelming mess! This will pass. Cyberhugs to you.
  18. Yes! A tough battle but I am winning
  19. Sure hope today will be a continuing miracle of Nope!
  20. Congrats!!!!
  21. Thanks so much for helping me to get here!
  22. Yeah! Good job!
  23. Happy Birthday Guys! Wishing you s wonderful year ahead!
  24. Thanks CPK! It just kind of came & went..... but I'm celebrating!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
