  3. An experiment: Turkey Chili 1pkg extra lean ground turkey Can of red kidney beans (drained and rinsed) Can of chick peas (drained and rinsed) Can of crushed tomatoes. (I added some home made salsa too) Mushrooms, bell peppers, celery, onion Clive of garlic. Chili powder. Lots. :) Fry the turkey, throw in a pot. Fry the mushrooms, throw in the pot Add all the canned stuff plus veggies and garlic. Chili powder it up and simmer until your house smells good. Do NOT eat the whole pot or the purpose of it being healthy is lost.

  8. *IF* I was going to have ice-cream, I'd be having Haagan Daas Dulce de Leche. Its really like a drug in frozen form. A wonderful, fattening, sugary drug :)
  9. And you get some Zantac tablets for your heartburn  I insert a 1967 Mustang Fastback.......
  10. -6 Happy Sunday
  11. I just downloaded my fitness pal. Its sweet....it syncs up with my fitbit app, and is easy to track the stuff I put in my face :) I am down 6lbs :) And.....(hold on to your hat) I am at the gym....daily!! And I...I like it!! Who would have thought?? So my journey began with cleaning up my liver by quitting drugs and alcohol. Then....time to clean up the lungs and throw the smokes away. Now....its on to my precious heart (among other organs). I swear, I feel like I could wear a Superman cape! :)
  12. Oh Aine......I hit the print button for that one :)
  13. Comrade! My quit-smoking-bud Me Too!!! And I feel effing fantastic. I hope you do too.....in spite of the little health hiccup you had. :) (actually....I think Im cheating....I think its tomorrow that Ive caught up to you with my 10 months) :P
  14. I was meandering my way through this thread..... Laughing cow cheese Huh? I've never had it either. But....it comes in a light version 35 calories a wedge. Maybe cheese isn't off my list after all.....
  15. Yes, tilapia is a white fish. Very mild tasting, but meaty in texture. And I just discovered.....I can fry mushrooms and peppers with no additive in the frying pan. No butter. No oil. Just straight up veggies.
  16. 0 Good morning sweet smelling people
  17. I wish I had taken a pic of my beautiful 300calorie lunch before I scarfed it down. I had a tilapia fillet in multigrain breadcrumbs. And a lovely bowl of layered veggies. Red peppers, celery, cucumber, orange peppers, green peppers and a tablespoon of yogurt-cucumber-garlic dressing. Delish!!

  19. Lol! Definitely straight up hillbilly. Denim overalls for me! :)
  20. The fitbit zip:) It does everything I need it to, plus it's small enough to hide on my bra strap. Hubby is thinking of getting the bracelet one.

  22. So happy you could take your kids on holiday!! And don't tell Bakon, lest it go to his head, but I'm so jealous you got to meet him!
  23. Well....I add crystal light to my water to flavor it with no calories, so it seems like juice. I also like bubbly water with a slice of some kinda fruit in it to make it look pretty (a sliced up strawberry, a wedge of orange or lime, a sprig of mint with a slice of lemon) Fitbit is an actual gadget that you can clip to tour pocket or bra (or they sell a bracelet form too) and it counts your steps during the day (the goal being at least 10 thousand) It's different than the old step counters because it has an app for your phone, plus tracks all kinds of other neat things. It keeps me mindful. Teeny tricks have become the norm. I take stairs instead of elevators. I park in the farthest spot away in the lot at work and the grocery store. I walk my dog the minute I get in from work so I don't get busy and accidentally-on purpose forget! :)
  24. Oh Leanna! I love your pictures!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
