  2. You really have no idea how instrumental you were in my quit, do ya? Especially those early weeks and months...... You felt like a kindered spirit, and your bad-ass-ish-ness always made me smile, made me throw my hands in the air and cheer, and pushed me forward. Comrade, you'll always be my quit smoking comrade :)

  5. MissMaster.....no need to imagine that long......... Im not even sure how it happened..... An hour turned into a day........ days became weeks...... Somehow, when I wasnt looking and wasnt smoking......I arrived at 11 months. You will too :)
  6. Ok.....Ive gotta say.... I havent been here for awhile, but the last time I was, Evelyn, you wre slip-sliding all over the place. You were having trouble stringing a couple days together. 2 weeks?! 2 entire weeks? This is awesome and amazing...... You know that, right? This is YOUR 2 week quit-baby! Nurture it, take care of it, treasure it. And dont give it up. Not for anything! Good job, girl!
  7. Yoohoo....Comrade....where are you? Listen up you prickly son-of-a-gun........ Im not much one for big to-do's or nuthin......and I think you might be like that too... But man alive......we are almost at a year! An entire flipping year! I need you vecause I can never remember my date! Yours is a couple days ahead of mine. I think you quit on a tuesday....and I quit on thursday.....??? PS- I hope you are well. I hope your ticker is well. I hope Aine and family is well. :)
  8. Tonight....Im not having just a lil'bit of food. Its an exciting cheat night! We're going out to The Keg Steakhouse......Im going to have a big yummy slab of red meat.....and fries on the side! Oh fries....oh how Ive missed you!

  11. Mt Bandit friend....Ive upped my daily goal from 10k steps to 12k.....that was so easy that I upped it to 14k. Ive been hitting it easy. I jog in place while I watch tv at night :p

  13. Skinny Cow ice cream bars. Oh my....where have these been all my life?? I used to think I hated fish....turns out I actually love fish. Tilapia.....I could eat that every single day. Kale was an interesting adventure. It wasnt awful......but it wasnt really good either. I prefer spinach. I bought an amazing frying pan and now I can have a fried egg.....with nothing added, no butter, not even no-stick spray. It just slides right out. Turkey bacon.....hmmmm.....the jury is still out. The family had regular bacon in front of me. It is hard to be objective while pouting. Hellmans light mayo......who knew that light tasted just like the full fat stuff? What a pleasant surprise! Tzasiki (greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic and dill) tastes just as good as a spread in place of butter.
  14. I adore my fitbit! It keeps me accountable....and very present and in the moment when it comes to food choices and exercise. I have added friends....and since Im a tad competitive by nature, its motivating to "win" daily or weekly step challenges among friends. Im currently stepping about 14-15 thousand a day :)

  19. -activia strawberry rhubarb yogurt. -tilapia fish. Seriously, better than chicken. -artichokes. A pain to prepare but delicious! -colored bell peppers (red, orange, yellow, green, purple and white) they all taste the same but look SO nice on my plate.
  20. My hubby is on board :) He bought himself a fitbit.....and last night, we did yoga! There's a health and fitness app on our tv :)
  21. Today, instead of potatoes, I'm having baked cauliflower. :) I cut it into florettes, sprinkled the top with pepper, a little Parmesan and some parsley. Yum.

  23. We are fitness pal friends El B :) I'm trying to remember to log my stuff there instead of on my fitbit app. I got used to doing it there.....
