  1. Ah! Me too! I'm the strong girl, who never cries! Lol, so my first few weeks I hid in the bath tub. I soaked until I was prune-like. Plus it's hard to bug the neighbor for a smoke if you're dripping wet and naked :p
  2. -17 :)
  3. -waving- Hi guests!! :)
  4. Oh Sara. Pay no attention to the breakfast meat ;) We love redheads. Are you using internet explorer? Try google chrome or Firefox and see if that works.
  5. A flu bug hit the inlaws household :( On the plus side: The 16yr old went to friends for a sleepover. The 24yr old boomerang and baby went to her dads and step moms for the night....... Hubby and I are getting pizza and enjoying a kid free house!!
  6. Satsuma!! :) second place: Sweet Pea. Remember when they used to sell the perfumed body oils? If I had known they were going to discontinue the satsuma, I would have travelled far and wide, buying up all stock. :(
  7. Same thing I told Rowly: If it's a good idea today it will still be a good idea tomorrow. Wait until tomorrow. That's all. Things may just look different then.
  8. Try this on for size: If smoking is such a good idea today, then it will be a good idea tomorrow. Sometimes I just need to tell myself 'wait' and then clarity comes later and I'm glad I gave myself a wait time (((Hugs)))) Screeching babies are hard, I know. All of this, ALL of it will pass my friend.
  9. Sarg's take is something Ive been working towards for a long time. Some days I got it down pat......some days I dont. Living in the moment, whatever that moment is, is my aim. "Getting rid of" moments/feelings I dont like is something that got me into all kinds of trouble (Hint: See screen name) I breathe, tell myself 'everything is temporary'. When the moment is awful......this too shall pass. When the moment is wonderful.......this too shall pass.
  10. There will be no smoking for me today. No matter what life throws my way, I will not look at a cigarette as a solution.
  11. I dont have the strength for tomorrow yet because I am living today. When today is over and tomorrow comes, may I have the strength for that day. One day at a time.

  12. I didn't call ANYONE arrogant. I shared my PERSONAL thoughts and experiences in regards to my own addictions. My views tend to come from my personal experience based largely on a 12 step model (but not limited to) Jonny, I respect that you have views based on YOUR experience. But to tell me (or others) that our experience is wrong.....is condescending and hurtful. We ALL have something to offer. To be dismissed due to 'time smoke free' or a differing viewpoint feels terrible.
  13. Oy! Is it possible to accept that maybe....just maybe...there are folks here among you who have dealt with addiction(s) for years, decades even......and simply feel differently? Have experienced it differently?? Telling someone their experience is untrue is......well.....I don't even know the word! But there should be room here for different beliefs and experiences without being spoke down to from some 2yr quit hilltop.
  14. Ahhhhh. Yes. You speak my language Aine. :) Today I won't smoke. Or drink. Or snort. Or pop. But I dare not become arrogant about my addiction(s) and say I never will again. I know better. Because I've seen what happens with my very own eyes.
  15. Here ya go skillfulabbot :)
  16. Bought other people treats today with my quit smoking money. Bought the hubby a new music book (slightly motivated by a selfish desire for him to learn some of the songs in the book I picked) Bought the 16yr old a book she wanted. White Oleander by Janet Fitch. I've read it.....good book. Bought the 24yr old boomerang child an iTunes card. Her iPod hasn't been updated in eons. And....bought the wee little man a cool hat. It's a mini fedora! Who could resist that?! Felt good to come home with stuff for others. :)
  17. The boy and I are 'studying' some 70's music tonight.......

  19. I don't have a rocket stick and since we have 4 people in the home using the internet plus watching Netflix we have an unlimited plan. I can eat up all the bites I desire. :)
  20. Depends on your package. Most providers offer unlimited access (for a higher monthly fee) or you could choose a package with a limited amount of bites and try not to go over that. Call your top 3 service providers and ask them :)
  21. When traveling, free wifi spots are becoming more and more popular. You could get a rocket stick (plugs into your laptop and acts as a modem) You'd have to find the best package for you with your provider. When I'm at the cottage, I just access through a 3G or 4G network via a smartphone or ipad. The ipad is very user friendly.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
