  2. Heeheeeeeeheee That's so funny!!
  3. I have a list as long as my arms of things I would continue to do, if they weren't bad for me. If the consequences weren't so horrific. But they are. My list of things robs me, robs my loved ones of time, energy, money, and ultimately my spirit. The cons FAR outweigh the pros. So I won't smoke.

  12. Ok....-sigh- I'm a selfish, self-centered brat....I bought myself treats all the time even when I was smoking. Now....I just don't need to rationalize or justify my purchases. Well...other than to say "I'm not spending 10.50 on cigarettes" My newest treat: bigger pants. Huh. They didn't feel like such a 'treat'. I think I went overboard on the food treats.......

  17. I love Kid Rock. Someone scrolled through my iPod once....filled with George Jones, Jonny Cash, Simon and Garfunkle, Elton John.....once they got to Kid Rock and Everlast, I was declared a 'music lover with multiple personalities" :)

  23. You get Rain Forest at your door for a visit :) I insert a 8 track tape
  24. I love this thread. I'm bumping it for: A) new members who may not have a quit buddy. It's been an important part of my quit, it's ok to reach out and find a quit buddy or two. You aren't bothering anyone or wasting anyone's time. Quit buddies do an important job for each other, it isn't a one way street. B) For old members who may need a nudge to take a newbie under their wing. In my experience, the folks who did this for me made a tremendous impact and were sometimes the difference between checking in here daily.....or just slipping away, unnoticed. :)
  25. Jengelsnew, just yesterday while I was driving to work, my hand reached out for the place I always kept my cigarettes......at the place in my drive that I would always light up. I was more amused than anything. I still occasionally tap my pockets (to see if my cigarettes are there) on my way out the door. I can accept that my almost 30yr addiction will not be erased in a matter of months. Now when these old behaviors pop up I try to look at them for what they are.......just remnants of a very long addiction to cigarettes.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
