  1. Some things never change, eh Comrade? Lmao, I'm trying to give myself 6 months a day early!
  2. Oh comrade. I feel terrible. I'm a rotten quit buddy. I'm like a.....like a.....an unreliable alcoholic! ;)
  3. So now I've trudged my way into 6 months? Betcha didn't think I could do it, huh Comrade? ;) I'm sorry I don't sign in more often and offer support and friendship. Truth be told, I found, the more often I'm here.....talking about not smoking, the more often smoking was permeating my thoughts. Once I stopped signing in daily......I found I went days, even a week at a time without the thought of a cigarette popping into my head. (That's just my experience, I'm not encouraging anyone to let go of their support system) I do feel bad not offering support to newbies. I kinda come from an atmosphere that teaches the importance of giving back. I have no excuse.....I just got selfishly busy. I adore my smoke free life. I love all my new shoes. I love buying the grandbaby a new toy every week. I'm learning to love running.....although my joints don't agree. Doreen, I'm gonna put a pic of the sweet baby up tonight for you. I've missed you guys. (Blows a kiss at Bakon) hey Sarg...do I get new stripes now? Have a great day folks! (Wait.....edit! Edit! Is it today or tomorrow? Lol, maybe I'm still at 5 months today. ? I have no idea!)
  4. Wiley, 6 months is fantastic! Congrats! :)
  5. Comrade! 6 freakin' months! Half a year!! 2 entire seasons! Did you think you'd make it this far? (I knew you would) You throw too many tantrums......relapsers wear all their junk on the inside :) Atta'boy! :)
  6. I just checked in with a new thread. Thanks for thinking of me :)
  7. I didn't even know I had hit 5 months.....Comrade emailed me an 'atta girl' .....:) That extra energy they talk about.....I've got it! I'm growing orchids, making jam, hoarding jars for my dozens of canning recipes, I'm running.....yes, you read that right....running! The sober chick who doesn't exercise is running 3k a few times a week....usually 3 times, sometimes 4. How do you like that Sarge? I'm still 15lbs heavier than when I quit.....but...well, I kinda like it. I was thin before (diet of coffee and cigarettes) now I have shape. Shape is good. :) plus I figure it's healthy chub, because I'm eating well. Shapely is nicer, isn't it Bakon? The only drawback of quitting smoking.....my feet are sore because I don't sit down. But with all the money I don't spend on filthy cigarettes, I can spend on good shoes! My grandbaby is lovely and fat and a pure joy! I wish I had quit years ago. YEARS ago. If you are lurking....don't wait. Don't wait one more god damned minute. The momentary discomfort is worth the lifetime of freedom. Do it.
  8. Thank you :) I'll post an update on the main board. :)

    Real Name

:) I am Julie. Jules to many of my friends. Hey babe to hubby (on a good day) Bad days I'm "hey you" Mumma to my very own window-lickers. Young'un to my old folks at work. And weiner to my dad. I guess when I was 3 we were having hot-dogs for supper......I had been playing with the Italian kids next door that day.....and I asked if I could "have another fukkin' hot dog. Please." He's called me weiner since ;)
  10. Hi folks. Just checking in.....now that the nice weather is here, I have limited time on the internet. I'm enjoying my smoke free life, I'm eating better, doing some exercise and finding new hobbies. :) Orchids! I've become orchid obsessed....growing them, repotting them, buying them. I'm running out of places to put them. The cottage is open, so free time us spent there and my internet service is hit and miss. -shrug- Tis ok....sitting with my nose in a laptop while at the cottage kinda defeats the purpose of having a cottage. I have new projects on the go at work. In short, my smoke free life is awesome. I'll keep checking in when I can. Smoke free, smell good hugs to y'all
  11. Aine, 3 months is fantastic. :) Everytime you and Comrade reach a milestone I can't help but think of how lucky and proud your boy must be :)
  12. :) 4 months is feeling great. Thanks for the atta'girl's :)
  13. And you get PETA giving you a lecture and some flip flops made of recycled tires. I insert cheese curds
  14. Ross, isn't it the craziest, coolest thing?? I used to always be searching my car/pockets/purse/night table for money for smokes. Now I carry money around for ages :)
  15. Hi Andrew. I've been pretty lazy about posting. I've been busy working/planting trees/opening the cottage/playing with grandbaby. :) But happy to report, I have maintained my lovely quit. :)
  16. Prayers Joe! Welcome to the world little Zoey....be easy on your momma for a bit ok? She's going to be tired with a capital T.
  17. Congrats Action!! 7months is just fantastic.
  18. Joe, 6 months is amazing!!
  19. Congrats on this, your actual day. And I did plant stuff I can eat. Strawberries :) I'm taking baby steps towards becoming the farmer in the dell
  20. I'm planting stuff too!! Tulip trees!! Not bad for a city slicker huh? I got my hands, feet, knees and hair dirty. Really dirty. It was flipping great!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
