  6. Hugs racheal, You dont want to smoke truly you dont it is just the stress trigger......sometimes coping with the stupidity of others can be the most difficult thing to do but it isnt worth smoking trust us......breathe deep walk away if you can go somewhere and scream, cry, yell, jump up and down, throw a tantrum what ever you need to release the stress then get through your day and when you get home take a nice long hot bath with some candles and release your stresses for the day let go of the thoughts and feelings for a bit, just relax. We have to learn new ways of coping with these things all the time it wont be the first one and it wont be the last but each time you make it through to the other side you become stronger and stronger you are strong you can do it you got this!!!!

  15. I was thinking how much I have changed in the last year or two (I am talking mentally not physically lol) and all of the things I had to re-learn or retrain myself on. I had to relearn how to cope with stress-still working on that one even after all this time lol. I had to relearn how to control my anger-turns out I have a temper which I just stifled with a cig previously but now I breathe it out or remove myself from the situation, I have had to learn how to cope with loss as some of you know I lost 3 family members and 2 furbabies this winter. There are many things I have had to learn how to do without cigs and I am doing it and so can you. Because you are never too old to learn new things :) never too late to change, change is good and change might be scary but it is soooo worth it. The early struggles are few and far between, I hardly even think of it except when I come here or when I realize I just did something that I used to always had to smoke with and I do not have to. I also believe that I have an anxiety disorder that I have to deal with because before I would self-medicate with a cig when I felt anxious which was the wrong thing to do and pretty stupid especially since nicotine raises your heartrate that is not going to make anxiety better. Make a choice for your life -QUIT TODAY, do not put it off another day you can do it and it is worth it and you are worth it.

  20. I dont have too much more to add to what the others said except remember to drink water and plenty of it try drinking juices for sugar lows, deep breathes however cliche do work, maybe some yoga type breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, long hot bathes anything to distract you from smoking. Having a list to look at can be helpful as well......read posts, play games, whatever you need to do.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
