  1. you should at least take in 1200 cal a day if not a bit more to be healthy at least that is what is recommended but truly 1500 cal/day would be better and more realistic
  2. Susanna, you have the strength to do this without the gum if you have to but like someone else has said use the spanish gum until the other stuff comes in if you have to.......you know the drill drink lots of water, juice, jump in place, whatever you need you are strong just keep reminding yourself of that fact :)
  3. Welcome back Trish!!! Good job on quitting :)
  4. the craves (for lack of a better term) come and go in the early weeks but as time goes by they become more and more infrequent do I occasionally think about a cig now after almost 2 years yes but it is very very weak and infrequent and nothing I cant laugh off..........it does get better and it is sooo worth the pain :) you got this and you are doing very well :)

  11. The transformers movie was good I thought it was better than the planet of the apes movie but they both were good I also think that it is the atmosphere of the drive-in that makes the movie better :)
  12. What Beacon said I did the same thing myself......I realize now that I stifled my emotions with a cigarette all the time......now that I dont smoke I have to find alternative methods to shut my mind up or relax my mind from stressing out....I use lots of breathing at times and of course exercise.......but what I have noticed now though is even though there is stress in my life at times(there always will be) it is actually lessened because I do not have the added stress of trying to fulfill my cravings or nic fits which added to my stress levels when I smoked........You are strong and good job posting this

  15. worked out at the work gym yesterday and took cody for a long walk after work. Today ran 5.5 miles (kinda rough run today or at least a slow one) BUt I did it I think because I prefer to run in 60 degrees or below and I took a chance and ran in 73 degrees it was ok but I think I like colder runs couldnt run earlier had to take hubs to the doc to check up
  16. Sorry for your loss {{{{{hugs}}}}} it does suck to lose them.......
  17. yeah it stinks to watch our parents and grandparents age.....treasure the moments while you have them........I lost all three of my parents :( and all sets of grandparents are gone also.......I am an orphan ....I miss them (mostly my dad) I did not know my real mom she died when I was 3 and although I loved my step-mom (she raised me from 3) she had some mental issues that were unresolved which put a bit of a wedge between us .....but my dad he was an awesome man and he was a strong man . Will someone adopt me maybe? :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
