Happy 4th of July!! You gotta watch this. This takes place every July 4th in Seward, AK, a town 2.5 hours away from where I live. The Mount Marathon race started as a bar bet somewhere around 1908. Population of Seward grows from 3000 to 35,000+ over the weekend, and there's one road in and out - it's a CRAZY time! There's a parade and fireworks and all that, but the race is the big draw. <smokers need not apply ;)> . Here's a glimpse...

Sidenote - my nephew is in Paris doing an internship this summer. His flat is close to the Eiffel Tower and the Fun Zone is within earshot. He heard Muse playing the other day. He went down for the France-Ireland game and said it was crazy fun and the jumbotrons were massive! The kid is Irish yet he cheers for France, tisk. He's having the time of his life.
