  1. Well look at this! Welcome back and congrats on the pup. I'm living in MN now so take good care of AK for me.
  2. Bakon's fried, Sonic died, Joe is still the same. Hey!
  3. Congratulations Tammy! The 6 month feels so great and you've arrived. It's just a matter of repetition from here on out. Next stop, the Lido Deck!
  4. I just call you Awesome
  5. Thank you! It seems like so long ago. It is by far the best decision I've made in my life. Not only for better health, but for the freedom and peace of mind. If you're just starting out or have months/years under your belt, keep going. Don't ever turn back. You will be rewarded tenfold. Well, it's immeasurable really. Gotta the QT! Thank you bunches!!
  6. Phfft. No comparison. Tiny state of Texas is filled with pansies.
  7. If you want an example of an amazing group of hard working people, check this out. The road and railroad repairs are coming together. On the other hand, building inspections are showing wide spread damage, a couple schools that didn't make it, lots of homes off their foundations, etc. That will take more time. But that off ramp, wow.
  8. I'm okay! Thank you for thinking of me, so kind of you! Yes, I'm in Anchorage, I've been here 28 years and that was right up there in the top 3 of NOT fun quakes. Fortunately, there has been no loss of life. The main damage found so far is to our roads and bridges. Kudos to strict building codes and compliant engineers and building contractors. Here's the crazy thing... I just sold my house, signed the final paperwork on Tuesday, the money hit the bank on Wednesday and the new owner moved in yesterday. Poor lady, I hope it didn't sustain any damage. I fly out of here next week. What a stellar send off! I'm good. A little rattled, ha, but ok. I can live without these aftershocks, geez!!!! ??
  9. My friend Joe is living the good life. Congrats on your 5. Oh sure it's old hat by now but 5...pretty cool.
  10. I have never been to Vegas I have never seen the Grand Canyon I have never given birth I have never swam in the Indian Ocean I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut
  11. I’m glad you quit. It’s good having you around. My guest house ready yet?

  13. Hi TobacNO, I asked a similar "when" question around 5 weeks. The answers helped me settle in. for me - Those intense, junkie like cravings lasted 2-3ish days. I was spacey and tired for a couple weeks, and vacillated between fine and easily irritated for a couple months. I took a vacation around 5 months in and recall having zero desire to smoke. In fact, the smell made me queasy and seeing others huddled under an awning for that last fix before climbing on the bus made me SO glad I toughed it out in the beginning. You just have to NOPE.
  14. Clapton & Billy Preston, really now.
  15. a little wedge of Brie cheese, a glass of Merlot and a campfire
  16. A belated Congratulations, Nancy!!! Such a life changing decision and a fabulous milestone. Thank you for your extended hand to the rest of us so that one day we may celebrate 5 YEARS too. I, for one, wouldn't be here without your help. Enjoy another year of easy breathing! (love the turtle!)
  17. ^^^what Bat said. Stay close to the board. I found my mind to be way too scattered to put words together, so I didn't post much, but I was here and reading and feeling safer than if I was out there on my own. NOPE every day. I really does make a difference.
  18. No worries. I know now so it's cool. I hope they find something that helps it! Consider it magic, ?
  19. So glad I found this! Was about to break out the BAT light and get him and Bakon on it. What a scare, my friend. Three cheers for persistent wives and compliant husbands!! I hope the meds work their magic and the monitor indicates all is working well. I will definitely keep you in my prayers, Joe, and please keep us posted on how you're doing. I'll be checking! OXOXs to my quit buddy.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
