I am 2 1/2 month m/l into my quit. I had an "unbearable" one yesterday, a full ten minute crave. Those come about a couple times a week. I get annoying pings at least twice a day. Adding up the time of discomfort over my entire quit is maybe as much as an 8 hour shift at a Burger King saying "you want some fries with that?" We need to keep our perception of "Hell" in perspective, ho ho! I smoked heavy for 40 years since i was a kid. I quit, you can too. Good to see you formulating methods to beat the addiction. As long as you keep trying the playbook gets better and better.

This is sorta embarrassing but we all have our low points... Far, far. ago and long, long away I found myself in a political thought universe of idiocy. How I got there from being a SoCal beach bum is some sort of high weirdness, but It occurred to me that I had become a rabid right winger... to the point of being pissed off at anyone who interrupted me during the Rush Limbaugh program. I shit you not, I was waving a little paper flag I printed off and glued to a chopstick during The Shrub's first state of the union speech. I'd wave and say Yea! every time he said 'murica. Then the Towers came down and the chatter on the internet started and some right wing radio show laughed at the absurdity of "controlled demolition" and I screwed up and looked into it. And there it was, the baby had just been born and the talking heads just looked fatter and fatter and sounded dumber and dumber. I knew I had a problem and need help to quit "republican". So Iwent to the site that The Fat One ridiculed - Democrat Underground, Howard Stern etc. I didn't necessarily begin to agree with them but I was pulled out of my stupor and began to think clearly. I had to have a user name to post on those leftie sites so what could be the complete opposite of all the wholesome white right holds dear? Reagan's Evil Empire. Okay... there's Comrade but Comrade what? Googled bloody vicious revolution and found articles on the Simba Rebellion. Perfect. Commie militant black coming after your way of life. Comrade Simba! After awhile I put the political crap aside as nothing more than a Red Herring diversion and we also got the hell out of the city so our son could be raised outside of the 125 mph statistical headwinds that have turned an entire generation into I-zombies. I got into online homestead and shtf style communities and decapitalized into just comrade simba. It's an archie the roach thing, insignificant but having something important to say now and then.
