  1. Very glad to hear that. Pleasant dreams. . .
  2. I do not have IBS. However. Ditto. Same problem. Broccoli. Geez. Yeah, have been eating a lot of that. And cumcumbers. and celery and a million other things that I don't normally eat because I'm too busy smoking. lol! I've read flatulence (wow, what a great word) is a common problem to people who quit smoking. I'm sure waiting a bit, anyway, before I rush in asking for a colonoscopy. That's just me, though. . .
  3. Hmm. Interesting. Perhaps it is choice? I know my fear level over quitting was huge; it was comparable to "i will die if I cannot smoke." Just typing that strikes me as a bit, well, illogical. :-) Quitting sucks. NO SPARKLES. However, it is slightly less horrific than I thought it would be. I didn't die from the physical withdrawal. It was better than childbirth.hmm. Well, most things are, really. I am 5 weeks off smoke, and I am restless, irritable, and mostly discontent. I pray for sleep for some release from the constant anxiety. It is getting better each day, don't mistake me, but it is so god awful slow! Sigh. 40 years. Nancy, really, I DID expect to be over this in 5 days. lol!
  4. Yeah, having my husband say "just install it babe" to others besides myself could be a bit, um, weird. . . <_<
  5. I found these videos extremely helpful the first two weeks of my quit. Daily Quitting Lesson Guide Link to YouTube Featured Playlists for all of Joel Spitzer's Stop Smoking Videos I watched these like crazy, educating myself on the nature of addiction, how nicotine works on the body, and how deep breathing can help alleviate the craving. I too have had panic attacks in the past; panic for me is fear, and if you look at how your body reacts in a panic mode, it is ALL about breathing. Fear is shallow rapid breathing, resulting in lack of oxygen and some other chemical stuff I can't explain! lol. But, I found that I was able to alleviate most of my panic attacks by deep breathing exercises and talking to others so they could tell me I was full of crap about my fears, usually. And, that I wasn't alone. . .you're not, either, Evelyn.
  6. I will not smoke today
  7. Mine screwed up too; gave me about a week extra last week. Bah. I've got today. That's all that counts right now.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
