  2. Hello, all! Beautiful day, today. I will not smoke today!
  3. Really? I disagree. The nature of addiction contradicts such sweeping statements as "I will never smoke again" Today, I will not smoke. FYI: The use of "you need to" in the second person does not work as well as sharing personal experience in the "I" first person perspective, either, at least for me. Except, possibly, from a trained and licensed professional in this area of nicotine cessation.
  4. No smoking today.
  5. Season 4 Episode 1-30 Days Without an Accident Episode 2-Infected Episode 3-Isolation
  6. Chalk it up to dopamine. Booze and cigarette smoke work in a similar manner. Throw in dismantling a big trigger and it's easy to see the difficult day you have had. I am sorry it is rough for you now, Bandito. Remember, though; Do you really want to do these last 77 days over again?
  7. No smoking today.
  8. Too many to count! lol!
  9. My husband didn't empty the plastic bin that catches our gray water. Smells like dead chicken. Just wanted to jump into the conversation. . ..
  10. Yes. It finally happened for a few hours today. 6 weeks quit, and each day slightly better, with a few hiccup days occasionally. But, still most of my brain has been caught up with "not smoking." Today I worked in my new office (got a promotion, too, that actually came with some more money--doesn't usually happen that way. lol!) and then went to the gym after work. Either it was just time and/or the new office, where I had never had any smoking triggers occur, but I actually felt at peace as a non smoker. You all said "wait." I didn't think it could happen for me; after all, I smoked a lot, for a very long time. . . I'm going to keep waiting. For more hours, more days, of not killing myself. I'm starting to think that maybe I can do this. Thanks, all of you. I couldn't have done this alone.
  11. My 12 year old boy was looking over my shoulder as I was searching out Amazon for Jo Nesbo's books, with the character Harry Hole. He snickered, too. . .lol!
  12. 1 mile walk/run and 1 mile bike. I actually ran about half the time on the stupid hamster wheel thing. Never could before I stopped smoking.
  13. I live in a bog. I can't find cheese around here! More Gouda. Smoked this time! Family pack size of roasted garlic hummus. This is getting out of hand. And flowers! I'll plant them tomorrow; gorgeous colors, I'll put them in planters and around the herb beds around patio. I checked out Harry Hole; what a name. I think I'm going for it. . .
  14. I'm not smoking today.
  15. I get some great ideas here. Today, I'm going to buy a few annual flowers for the patio. Spring is finally here; yeah!
  16. Pink roses sound wonderful!
  17. Absolutely fabulous, Juan. Good work. . .

  19. The nature of an addiction is always the same--an addict is one who has lost the freedom of choice. The ability to truly choose comes only when the substance is out of your body. In order to get to that point, however, support is generally needed to supply those words that you cannot give or cannot believe yet. Words like "you can do this because I did" and " this really will be better if you just don't smoke today". The hardest thing I have ever had to do is to learn how to forgive/let go of an addict. Is it logical to continue to use a substance that is life threatening to you and those around you that you love? No. Addicts do it anyway.
  20. left over night --Homemade pot pie with creamy coleslaw and left over potato patties.
  21. Yes, that is my new sugar fix replacement. Quaker Oats brand cinnamon apple with tsp of homemade vanilla yogurt ontop. It actually tastes good and 60 calories apiece
  22. Quit means quit. Seems simple to me. Depends on how much pain and suffering you want to put yourself through on the way to quit. The methods are many and the results vary with the individual. For me, vaping, patches, gum, all they did was linger out the pain. None of the NR's made me feel good; I want to smoke, not vape and chew gum. lol.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
